The crowd will turn on anyone who has been champion for a year straight and hasn't had a single good, worthwhile feud in that year that they carried, or even played an equal part in. There's no one to put against Becky now that she's champion because her whole appeal was being the underdog who talked a big game to cover for her otherwise middling success. Once that character is on top, that swagger turns into conceit, and that's what happened. Pair that with no good heels to have her run into... Becky shoulda turned when Seth did. But since they didn't have her do so, they have to go out of their way with Shayna to try and make Becky a 'face' again.
Becky's just a classic case of a babyface better chasing the title than with it.
