I'd rather Michael B Jordan be his own superhero instead of shoehorning him into a role that doesn't fit him in any sense.

I think he has the range to play him... But even in terms of type of actor (not even factoring race) I think there are better choices even if they aren't necessarily better actors.

Why is it that Movies have to strictly stick to "source material" instead of just adding on to the lore/universe of a superhero(s) like other coming books? whats the difference between a movie and a comic book pertaining to superhero lore? Why in comic books do creators have free range to create a new universe with an already established superhero and do what they please?

how does this role not fit him?

My view of Johnny Storm is that he's one of those celebrities who basks in the limelight, grabs an attractive female or two, and tries to show off when there's people around to watch. There is a playful and a serious side to him, but the qualities that he displays most are in that first sentence. The closest I've seen MBJ play in that type of role was in Chronicle, but even there he wasn't an arrogant dude the way Johnny is a lot of times. I can see dude play the playful and serious side, but those main characteristics.... Like I said, a few actors I think could portray it better

Studios these day's are too scared of anything original, they pour millions of dollars into making these movies and need large returns to break even, as such they need something they feel is guaranteed to sell. Thus virtually everything from a major studio these days is a reboot or adaptation.

They'll fukk around with the source material all they like, as long as the product has a well known name slapped on it, it's guaranteed to sell, right?
