Thats why, they order less yeilds because there not as much demand.

They were relying on the Series S to fly off shelves, which is dumb

High end chips are still hard to come by. Sony made a big push for supply, which probably cost lots of extra money.

Microsoft seems more conservative with their yields cause they have the series S to fall back on.

Demand for Series X is still pretty high despite what sony stans on the internet might say.
