It was a long time ago so it's easy to forget but I remember quite vividly that Austin had beef with Hogan (from what he calls being held down in wcw) and didn't want to do a program with him. In turn Hogan didn't want to lay down for Austin so they just nixed it all together and had Austin face hall instead
Yeah but SOMEONE JUST SAID that Austin was offered the match and said No..yet actually wanted the match and was angry when he was stuck with Hall. So dudes arrested just creating bull $hit out of thin air with that.....it was always gonna be Rock vs Hogan. Austin said he was frustrated at this point a million times already...geeks online don't know what they're talking about yet again. Just like them saying Austin's peak was bigger than most successful pro wrestler of all time. Where's that Austin vs Goldberg match folks? Where is Austin vs Hogan at WM 18? I must of missed those matches..because the Rock damn sure came across those guys in unforgettable feuds.

in what way did austin get "better" booking than the rock?

austin had to pay his dues just like rock did. it's not like he was beating everyone from the start. and as top guys they were both unbeatable.
Since you're acting dense, what they mean is Austin never really lost on TV too much. Rock could lose and do another money promo the next Raw and get another standing ovation. No one has ever been that special in the industry on a weekly basis.

Rock was part of those matches (while Austin wasnt) was much to do about rock being more flexible (in regards booking), timing and most importantly health. Sounds like you are trying to say those matches happened with rock and not with Austin because the former was greater. As a dude in his early 30s today who was an avid watcher till about 03 you can't rewrite history like that breh :whoa:

Stone Cold is the reason the Attitude Era existed :martin::skip:
Goes without saying breh, he was the lynchpin even with suspect durability he carried the company for a good min with lot of heavy lifters in the cut to take the weight (Rock, high, angle, taker, mankind e.t.c) but I don't recall the rock ever being the companies fully fledged number 1 baby face

Point is..it could of been done if they wanted to. It couldn't get done though because the Rock knows how to make money for the industry. Fight in Austin's hometown. Fight a missing exiled Hogan in Toronto. Didn't matter. These things got done and that's why Rock is who he is historically.

Because if someone's gotta be 1a and someone's gotta be 1b, Stone Cold is 1a. That's the way it was in the company when they were both at their height.

You can say SCSA was bigger in the wrestling business while Rock was bigger in pop culture overall. Both top 5 all time. :manny:

Austin came before Rock and peaked at the height of the monday night wars. The Rock is a bigger star overall, though.

Rock was already overrataking austin before his injury

Rock was the number 1 numerous times austin was out

notice you said "when Austin was out" which describes a placeholder. When Austin returned rock was always 1b. Austin never truly lost his spot till the feud with H that eventually led to the unexplained 2 man power trip angle.

After coming up short in a heated program that ran for months here was his reason for collaborating with his arch enemy "if you knew you couldn't beat a man wouldn't you join him" :mjlol:
