He's not dead yet

Though I grew up to him, I didn't get into MJ's music, heavy, until after he died

I promised not to do that with Stevie Wonder

That Greatest Hits joint, Songs In The Key Of Life and Talking Book (got it playin' right now) (among a few single joints) keep me goin'
Talking Book >>>

The brother been droppin' classics (real classics) since nap time

Take out Thriller and he's still a legend

Almost NOBODY underrates Stevie Wonder. He's about the only artist who you'll never hear anyone speak a negative word about. You still hear his music all of the time on commercials, random movies and television shows and shyt.

He's not a new artist, so you're not gonna hear him talked about constantly or played on the radio all of the time.

And LOL/SMH @ the OP trying to call Mike Jax overrated.

no doubt stevie wonder is one of the GOAT.....but :comeon::shaq2: at him being better than Marvin Gaye....fukk outta here....:pacspit:

You know Stevie Wonder, wrote, produced, arranged and played damn near all the instruments on his music, right?

As good as Marvin Gaye was, you have to give Leon Ware and Ed Townsend, as well as the studio musicians some credit for some of his classics.

If you want to talk about underrated...

talk about Sly and the Family Stone, talk about Mandrill... don't talk about an artist that EVERYONE probably has at least one song on their Ipod from.

he's not underrated. i remember i read a research paper theorizing about stevie's usage of musical figures and grooves and how they help to generate a sense of flow; and the use of flow in a variety of ways and on many levels to give songs both shape and life. alot of his songs during that little golden period were designed in a pretty powerful way. like the phrases and hits in the music, as well as the chordal progressions, were designed in a way to achieve maximum expression between the lyrics and the music. so, he gets a lot of mileage from his songs. this is also another reason why i try to play so many of his songs with my group. and not the more popular songs you hear either. most of the ones i play are more low key but they still have that feel of a stevie wonder tune...

generation today has no interest in music, instruments..etc

Funny you named Stevie, cus I've said this b4, the first song that I mastered on the piano was Love's in need of love today. And that happen to be my fav. song ever.

The last 3 songs on Talking Book are too raw:

Blame It on the Sun

Where has my love gone?
How can I go on?
It seems dear love has gone away

Where is my spirit?
I'm nowhere near it,
Oh yes, my love has gone astray

But I'll blame it on the sun,
The sun that didn't shine,
I'll blame it on the wind and the trees

I'll blame it on the time that never was enough,
I'll blame it on the tide and the sea,

But, my heart blames it on me

Looking for Another Pure Love

Now the wheel of fate has turned,
I'm worried 'bout the new love you've discovered,
He is a problem in my life,
I have a problem on my mind.

Things you cherish most in your life,
Can be taken if they're left neglected,

I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)

God always will answer your prayers

 I love how he goes off, at the end.

I'm just glad I have some grown man music, in my life.

I'm 24, but, I'm not tryna bump; "The p*ssy is mine, I make you scream, the neighbors know my name".

When people talk about great black musicians they always talk about Prince,Marvin Gaye, and that over-rated nikka Micheal Jackson, but I rarely hear nikkas discuss Stevie :wtf:..which is funny because that dude >>> all of them

Dude discography is crazy:Talking Book,Innervisions,Songs in the key of life (:noah:).Only nikka more slept on than him in my opinion is Little Richard.

As - Stevie Wonder - YouTube
Stevie Wonder - Love's In Need Of Love Today - YouTube
Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin') (with lyrics) - YouTube

:noah: I can listen to this dude forever..

Stevie Wonder is a genius. :ohlawd::myman:
