Because The Rock is a proven draw, now. San Andreas was his career gut-check moment and that movie did well solely off the strength of his star power. Baywatch was a bomb but Rampage did way more than it should've. Of course Jumanji was a GIGANTIC hit.

Basically, his run says if you promote the Rock, people will come.

How u think it will perform? I hate to doubt the rock but it looks like a flop to me. Or a modest earner at best.
I think a $30 Million opening weekend domestic but it won’t have much legs. Ant man opens the week before and then equalizer and mission impossible drop back to back weeks after,July is packed.

Probably a $80 Million Domestic run, maybe $300-350 WW. Depends on how much China likes it.

It’s a hard one to pin down. I wouldn’t be shocked to see it do $200 Million WW and flop and I wouldn’t be shocked if it did $400 WW and was a modest hit.

Of course the wild card will be is it any good? I think rock films get by with middling reviews but as we saw with baywatch if the movie is awful rock ain’t gonna save it.

So if I was officially predicting I’d say $300 WW

This can't be Die Hard. It's PG-13. Which is unfortunate. I understand that they feel it has a better chance of making more money with a PG-13 rating but the quality won't be there to capture the 80's/90's action flick mold.

If it was an original idea I'd be a lot more excited about it but I guess enough years have passed since Die Hard.

For as successful as The Rock has been he still doesn't have 'that' movie IMO. He has a nice complimentary filmography

but I don't see a crown jewel in it yet. That role whatever it ends up being will require him to take a risk.

2018 movies are done.

Marvel/Disney crushed the building.

After Black Panther, Infinity War, and Incredibles 2 made like 11 figures :mjlol:After AM&TW I'm done. Aquaman gets the bootleg. Halloween I'll catch on T.V. next year.
