Because Prodigy was better.

Lyrics aren't everything in music man. P had the tough guy thing down pat. Havoc was a beast in every department but P was on another level. His voice is deeper and strong. His raps where more extravagant. He was painting the most vivid pictures. QB villain Prodigy, live and direct stab ya neck.

Havoc was dope too, Prodigy was probably overall a bit nicer on the mic but Hav was ill and a beast on the boards, together they were a perfect combination in their prime, I wish they could have kept it up, in their prime they made great music that filled a need in the market.

I havent heard their full catalog but from what ive heard, Havoc more than holds down his own lyrically. Matter fact, he's outshined Prodigy on many occasions but it seems like Havoc is an afterthought while P is the one celebrated. Whats up whth this?
Prodigy is the blueprint of the Mid-90's NYC Rapper...

Havoc is very generic...

Prodigy just said shyt that was more off-kilter, whereas Havoc was more straightforward. His delivery was different, and he always had lines that for whatever reason, nikkas took to. Havoc was definitely dope, not a slouch by any means, but P just had IT.

I agree. Especially in the 2nd half of Mobb Deep's catalougue. Hav has been a better rapper than Prodigy for over 10 years now.

This is also how I feel about The Clipse. Malice lyrically outdid Pusha on just about all their work but people like Pusha more.

You should probably listen to their full catalog. Early albums, very few people in the game were seeing P, period. He was so creative, so vivid, so full of energy. The tide turned around Infamy.
