Why is NBA Media so much worse than other Major Sports
It has similar issues to soccer in that it's driven by narratives. Also there's still a friction between the analytics and traditional crowd despite the fact that analysis is always better when both are involved.

College game is simpler and slower so that makes sense. I think college football analysts are a lot better than NFL analysts too.

You also have a lot more teams in college and there are way more styles of play. In the NBA, the majority of teams play the exact same way. That's another thing I dislike about the current product.

Nah they market quarterbacks just as much as they market individual players in the NBA. The Qb is probably coddled the most in sports. It’s just that the NFL recognizes its history better.NBA is a stars league so naturally they have inflated egos, more so than any other sport.
There’s no “shield” or brand like other league. There’s no sense that the league is bigger than any individual.
Also older players are jealous that they don’t get the kind of money or attention that younger players get. A lot of them are bitter that they underachieved and wasted away their prime. They get jealous when they see youngsters shining and putting in the work that they never put in.
If older players were getting recognized and bigged upon don’t think this would be an issue. MBA players hate in each other currently.
the bolded is a terrible take. It’s all time greats and top 5 scoring leaders all time who get less props than they should vs the “youngsters” who will never achieve half.

Old generation Hockey players, analyst and fans always complaining.
They shyt on the newer generations, shyt on the new rules, shyt on safety, shyt on not being physical enough, shyt on anyone that has a different attitude, etc.
They are the biggest haters in any sport.

It’s simpler, slower and you can’t just say [superstar player] dominated the game like they do with nba games.
Saying that, it doesn’t excuse the lazy analysis. These guys don’t watch game tape and can’t do a good job of explaining why it happened.

it’s not a recurring theme like this forum makes it out to be.... however... you answered your own question..... Stern built the league on star power... peaked with Jordan.... and the league has been comparing superstars from different eras ever since.... it gets listeners emotionally invested in not just the sport, but sports media as well
