Why is GenZ quitting jobs and living off their parents seen as “bucking the system”?

This. One reason labor movements have failed is because you got people that believe in struggling and that their employers are doing them a favor. So no matter how many times the employer will take away benefits, increase hours but not wages, they'll bow their heads and say "thank you, sir"

They need to die and be beheaded, along with the enablers and ass kissers in this thread :hhh:

This bootstrapism is what causes the wages to stagnate. COVID done wiped out all those worker bees and left them with Gen Z.

I believe in multi generational households. Most countries (maybe 3rd world), run on that premise. Some men or women don’t leave the house until they get married.

I made 13hr in ‘05 and could afford a $500 apartment. My car was a hand me down, I was on my parents insurance, and lived debt free.

How much do you have to make now to live on your own? I guess they are “bucking the system” by staying home. That is wise.

Started homes are going for 300k+ now. Who can afford that at 26? Only in America are you kicked out to get it for yourself at 18-22.

Leeching off your parents until
They die is doing what’s right for them? I guess

You gotta be a cac or from the burbs
Not everyone’s parents got it and if they do there’s no guarantee they gonna give it to the kids or at least enough to the kids to last them…

These 21-30yr olds not doin shyt gonna be fukked unless the State/Gov gives em

It's fine for kids to live at home if they contribute and work or go to school. But if you are a bum, playing video games all day qnd just eating food not helping you got to go.

Seeing millennials shyt on Gen Z for not wanting to deal with the fukk shyt they didn’t cause is wild. Considering we’ inherited our own crap with disastrous recessions, a banking system collapse/bailout housing crisis, life-altering debt from education and no access to any of the things we’re supposed to want…just because it’s how corporations keep their coffers full. None of these things are intrinsically “good” or lead to happiness.

Working for The same corporations that tell you their company is “like a family” doesn’t provide shyt and eager to lay off workers. If you can get a job in the first place.

Healthcare is a shytty system even if you have good insurance.

Blatant consumerism turning into one of this country’s core values just because other people have/want it is one of the most appalling things I’ve encountered as an adult.

We won’t have Social Security
Housing will continue to chip away at income
People don’t want kids-in a society that tells them don’t have them if you can’t afford them-but people still criticize them

Im probably a light socialist but ultimately the way we approach “adulthood” and responsibility is wack. Most of the shyt truly sounds designed to keep people miserable and their goals constantly out of reach.

We also need to decenter work as such a key part of our identities/worth. It’s soul-sucking, most of it is nothing other than revenue-generating and endless.

I intend/hope to pay my son’s education fully through undergrad in hopes he’ll go to grad school but he can stay with me as long as he wants.
