IDK if ya'll using Macs or not. But Chrome on Mac has like 5 background processes easily using the most ram out of the browsers I've tested. And it causes kernel panics with the HD4000 graphics set.

My computer has hard crashes with a kernel panic causing my graphics card to fail about 15 times in a week. I've actually been forced into using Opera for now.

While Chrome works fast, it has crashed more than any browser I've used on my Macbook, and easily uses the most RAM.

IDK what rig you're using, maybe Chrome uses less memory on PC's, not sure.

Chrome does move pretty quick though, I've been having better luck with Opera as of late though.:noah:

I used to use it exclusively til I noticed one day how taxed my RAM was and started getting these kernel panics. Which have been complete hard freezes requiring boots potentially damaging my system disk. To which Google has admitted fault Google comes clean: Yes, your kernel panic is Chrome's fault

I did a test just now with Chrome open and Safari open. Each had 2 tabs open, Youtube Homepage and the-coli.com.

When I checked the RAM usage Chrome had a total of 9 SEPARATE processes running at once (These are Chrome 'helper' files which constantly relay data with Google to keep you updated), but 9 of them? The RAM for each process added up to 454 MB of RAM.

https://productforums.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/chrome/y8VTVHmkuzU

In Comparison in Safari with the same 2 tabs opened, there were 2 processes, totaling 135 MB of RAM in use. If you've got 4-8 GB of RAM not a big deal but when you've got as much running as I do at once and need internet access simultaneously it can make a difference.

IDK I always liked it before but now I'm :yeshrug:.

yea chrome takes up lots of memory and has 8-9 processes.

but it also doesnt usually have undetectable memory leaks that are ridic and also doesnt have epic clashes with flash...

Oh no doubt I didn't mean to infer its worse than Firefox.

Just voicing my personal frustrations. Chrome always ran well until this GPU issue with the new Macbooks. However I'm sure an update will resolve that.

Iva always wondered what cats do in their browsers that make firefox mess up for them. I have been using this browser forever and never had an issue. The adblock on firefox shyts on the Chrome version.

Firefox fell off so hard, remember a few years ago when it was known as the brand new browser that shytted on IE? Now it's like with every update it adds something new to make things slower or adds unnecessary code that on the surface doesn't help at all. The only thing making me use it over Chrome is ad block, DownloadHelper, No Script and the download status bar. Not to mention being good with my security throughout the years.

Damn son it was all good just a week ago :skip:
