Jerry West was a top 10 all-time player up until Kobe's 4th championship.

All-time he's right behind Jordan and Kobe in the SG ranks IMO. Numerous scoring records, 14x All-Star, 10x NBA 1st Team, 27/6/7 career averages, Finals MVP, championship, etc, etc. Just has a resume that Wade IMO, can't match right now.

how can u match a full body of work when someone has played 8 years longer than you have :comeon:

8 seasons? Jerry played from age 22 to 35. If you think Wade can make up the deficit in 5 seasons, you have a lot more faith in him than me.

Besides that West was considered the #1 SG in the league for the majority of his career. To me, that is a big deal in determining all-time rankings across eras. Kobe, Jordan, and West all had 10 or more NBA 1st teams.

You never seen him play.

How is it possible to compare someone you saw play to someone you didn't see?
Because I don't have watch every Jerry West game to know that he was considered the top of his position for the majority of his career. It's almost impossible to compare players across eras but you can measure how successful they were in their own.

And Jerry was more successful in his era than Wade is right now. For the majority of Wade's career, another player at his position was considered by most fans and media alike to be the better player. That never happened to Jordan, Kobe, or West.

Career wise, Wade is solidly below those three IMO. And I don't see how its going to get much better with Wade's play declining year over year since the '09 season.

'09 Wade would probably bully the hell out of a prime West no question. But that's not how you rank careers.

Arbitrarily arbitrary, aren't we?

That's why Jerry West is better than Wade? A no defense playing caucasoid who underachieved with stacked teams?

Wade hasn't had a better career than Jerry West period. And he was considered one of the best defensive players of his time. :obama:

ONly you are talking about careers though. If you were choosing a team with players in their primes, and you chose jerry west over wade, then you might be the timberwolves GM.

Jerry West making all defense teams means nothing. He was overrated and he should have won more rings considering who he had on his team. When talking SG's, it's

1. Jordan
2. Wade
3. Kobe
4. Drexler
5. West
