if you weren't there when pun started randomly popping up and bodying everything moving (firewater, you ain't a killer, off the books), i dont think you can truly appreciate what it was like HEARING someone rhyme the way he did... and then realize how big he was on top of it. so it's easy to overlook him. he had one classic album. health issues clearly impacted the follow-up. and unfortunately he was gone soon after.

It’s honestly because fat Joe went on to become a big act on his own and TS had a bunch of success with Remy and Khaled as well.

Lot of great rappers dont get their props like the guy who inspired puns flow , shabazz the disciple.

Puns run was massive but the second album and the way he died made it fall flat. Between pun and joes album and terror squad album he was gearing to really blow but guess he was going through it and the effort that came out wasnt enough. It was like a post death album while he was alive. It was a weird alhum. Maybe if he was alive it woulda been recieved better idk.

I love the laughing at you song and leatherface.

Damn man.

i remember when Joe talked about how he got him in the fat camp down in North Carolina and he was doing good at first but then folks start sneaking him food in and he gained the weight right back

crazy part is, Pun before all the weight gain, wasn't a fat guy.

You can tell with threads like this whom really with this hip hop shyt and who isnt. Pun was the first latino rapper to go platinum which opened up new lanes and gave Fat Joe a chance to be a serious player because he was barely going gold.

Homeboy was one of the few that can make that lyrical lyrical shyt sound fly and also have bytches on the dance floor. Dude was the complete package whom's run was cut too short.

But I'm thinking because of that footage beating Lizas ass that they really afraid of pushing his name out there out of fearof him getting canceled.
