Fredro was just talking about Pun in the studio recently.

Damn man.

i remember when Joe talked about how he got him in the fat camp down in North Carolina and he was doing good at first but then folks start sneaking him food in and he gained the weight right back

crazy part is, Pun before all the weight gain, wasn't a fat guy.

There was some material still to make some decent post-life album(s) but it was always railroaded from what I remember. I also felt like Joe could have done more for the guy who basically kept his career going. :manny: Didn't even show up for the street thing a few years back, doesn't work with his son, so on.

Things just ran their course and nobody really propped him up besides Cuban Link and remembrance from others in interviews.

Yeah, his wife said before he got serious about music, he got some money from an accident settlement, and all they did with it was go out to restaurants and eat. And because he was hurt, he couldn't really move around and workout too much. She said they would just be taking cabs all over the city and going to restaurants they couldn't afford before.

So he'd been dealing with that for a minute. It was just a really sad situation. I got the call the same day he passed, and I was heartbroken over the whole thing. You kinda hoped it would never get that bad for him.

going to tag it b/c once someone pointed it out, I couldn't unhear it...

His inhales on tracks were an issue. Someone should have edited them out, but so many cuts I hear those deep wheezes and it hurts those songs. Respect to Pun, he's dope as fukk, but his people should have sculpted his songs better.

Truth. It wasn't a bad album, but it just didn't hit the same. Later on, Fat Joe said he felt they rushed through it to keep the momentum from the first joint.

I copped it the first day it dropped because I was crazy about CP, but I could tell they rushed it. When CP dropped, I used to carry a little disc caddy around with me, with mad CD's in it, lol. But I would barely take anything else out once I got that first Pun album. I would listen to that sh*t all day everyday. It took me awhile to let that album cool off. I played that way too much!
Word! After I heard You Ain’t a Killer on the Soul in the Hole soundtrack I was highly anticipating his debut album & that first day it released and I put that shyt on and the Intro played and went right into Beware OMG YO!!! :damn:

"Beware" was really the perfect way to set the album off!!

Juju from Beatnuts did that joint! Had me wishing they did more sh*t together.
