Why is Big Pun so overlooked within Hip Hop?

Facts, even though I still think Yeeeah Baby wasn't a bad album. It wasn't until I saw people on here say it was bad, that I ever heard people say otherwise.

It's obviously not Captial Punishment but it's still a good album to me.

But man, I been randomly going back and listening to Capital Punishment every few months since last year for the first time in a minute and that album is obviously a classic. especially to those of us who grew up in the 90's, but it doesn't get mentioned enough these days along with many other classics of the 90's

Pun had a gumbo mix of producers and artists featured on the album and it worked like a charm

Truth. It wasn't a bad album, but it just didn't hit the same. Later on, Fat Joe said he felt they rushed through it to keep the momentum from the first joint.

I copped it the first day it dropped because I was crazy about CP, but I could tell they rushed it. When CP dropped, I used to carry a little disc caddy around with me, with mad CD's in it, lol. But I would barely take anything else out once I got that first Pun album. I would listen to that sh*t all day everyday. It took me awhile to let that album cool off. I played that way too much!

Terrible take. He was the first Latin rapper to ever go Platinum & you’re asking who he influenced? Of course he was an A lister after he dropped Capital Punishment & rolling with Terror Squad

No he wasn’t. He had a successful album, mainly single, but A list at that time was puff, mase, dmx, jay, he was not that.

but i won't lie, i held tight to the songs i liked from the album - Dat nikka shyt, My Turn, Leatherface, Laughing At You, We Don't Care, My dikk, Wrong Ones, 100%, So Hard.... shyt, I liked the whole album.

Word! Bruh, I got both Pun albums for my birthday the year they came out. Same here, I had a cd player by the time 2000 rolled around, 98 I still was using my sister's Walkman to listen to albums lol.

I hated Yeah Baby so much. Not only did it sound rushed but it felt like he was dying and his health was failing.

That breath control he had on the first album wasn't there. The production and features weren't as good.

Capital Punishment is like a personal classic for me and there's like no skips. Yeah Baby, I won't even go back to it.
