Why have all these rappers just found out what Bape is?

skater culture knew about palace for a year or two before Rocky started wearing it. Ian Connor was wearing palace before Rocky. Get off that man nuts he didn't put shyt on the map

do you understand the concept of influence?

All these labels existed before rocky knew them..or fukkin Ian Connor...these are the people that make them "blow up" and more common names

It's just like when a rapper blows up then the 12 people who had his first demo mixtape in 1996 act like nobody is a true fan because they weren't around to buy it with them

Rappers like rocky and that whole fashionista hipster crowd of Ian Connor and such go around scouting for these not so common brands..to start a trend

Wtf is your point? Skaters knew about supreme before hype beasts did Too?????! You're being very inconsistent with your argument..

Lol like a dude rockin palace in front of hundreds of thousands of people and in videos with millions of views had no affect vs the small subculture of skating..

Skating culture is not bigger than hip hop lol
The point I'm making is that Palace was well known in streetwear before rappers started jocking it. If you disagree then you're probably not that into streetwear so I guess you could say Rocky exposed the brand to people who are totally removed from the culture. He's pretty good at that

Yea he exposed it to lames on the internet who wear clothes because they saw famous people wear it. If that's what you're saying then we're in agreement

That's exactly what starting a trend is, especially in terms off cross over.

As a person who loves both hardcore/punk and hip Many hip hop trends or hip hop fashion tends are being taken from hardcore/punk and metal music or skate culture but that doesn't take away from so and so artist crossing it over from Rock to hip hop.. That's a trend starter. Not an originator. That's what we're talking about.

NY rappers weren't the first people to wear camo, but they made it "fashionable" in a completely diff culture, same shyt..

All that long sleeve print, 3 side printed shyt that's been trendy amongst street wear came from rock music, bands like Carnivore & Type O Negative, black metal bands (which is ironic) but someone who's imersed or involved or has an interest in both cultures or genres of music crossed it over..

Look familiar???

It's the same shyt. Crossing over "trends" from one subculture to another , esp when the other has a way bigger platform makes you trendsetter..

Somebody needs to stop them:damn:
A$AP cosigns black scale and black scale becomes :trash:
Don't get me started about Supreme:snoop:
Diamond Supply Co.:scust:
Man it seems like 10 deep is the only brand that can't be toppled:whew:

Diamond supply use to be dope, but 10 deep staple, akomplice are the only streetwear brands i still fukk with. Hundreds, play cloths, undftd all done fell off

This is part of the reason I think Wayne got put up on Bape by Currensy

Currensy was a part of Pharrell/Terry Kennedy's skate crew around the time Bape was starting to pop

Currensy slick responsible for a lot of fashion trends in recent years

Spitta was the main rapper reppin the streetwear culture and putting it on the map.

Here is an article by complex
A History of Curren$y's Streetwear Co-Signs

Rocky wasn't even the first to wear it. Virgil Abloh, Ian Connor wore it before him. Anyway I really don't care point is as soon as he stops wearing it it'll suffer the same fate as black scale

You guys have the entire thug mixed up.
Bape has consistently been fairly popular, it was popular in the mainstream in the 90s, straight through, until like '08, then it's popularity went down a little, but it came right back like 2 years later with kids ok Tumblr and "fashion" rappers.
Everyone from BIG, to Pharrell, to ASAP Rocky has rocked Bape. Cudi always had a piece on.
