Facts!

And not talking about them Rodney Mullen or punk rock skater types either. Skate culture ain't like that anymore and hasn't been for a minute! it's a bunch of pot smoking baggy pants tied up by shoe laces rap listening dudes

Every dude I've ever been friends with who skates listens to mainly hip hop, even when they stopped skating they still dress the same and listen to hip hop

This kid right here, fukked his ankle up real bad and doesn't skate anymore but he still looks and dresses the same and listens to the same shyt.

Wade desarmo????

Most these dudes who are considered or were considered some of the best in the past decade + swagger is entirely lifted from black men :manny:

most skaters dont look like Wade.. hes in a minority..

majority of skateboarders, look like either Andrew Reynolds.. or, Dylan Reider.. other huge majority of them, look like/are metal heads..

They're also very much into "REAL HIP HOP"...moreso than the average rap fan. Let's not forget about "Muskabeats"
one thing i will give to Muska- is he was always a b-boy.. grew up breaking, hitting up walls, etc.. would break on tour, go hit up walls in whatever town he was in.. even rocked a boombox wherever he went.. hes actually, really a b-boy..

he wasnt a poser.. thats why alot of hip-hop cats showed him love..

hes one of the few, real ones.. :manny:

Somewhere in the triphop rave scene, explosion of urban and imported clothing brands, around 95.
All this got lost.
that by 97,...
There were hordes of, fashion labels that rose up and somehow made it how it is now.
When, hiphop commercialized lo and girbaud.
Plus, moved into a higher priced sector that associated luxury with hiphop gear.
All because of reg know's look and clothing choices.
In the corporate structure of Leo burnett.
So, his lo life inspired lo fascination and Puba fascination with girbaud denim was lifted.
To where it just, naturally became the go to label and uniform in 96, for anyone black, globally anywhere.
Outside of just a culture based zone.
When, hiphop was marketed and globalized.
into then the most profitable culture in the world.
Till, this was abandoned in the boom of black entreprenneur urban designer age.
Or the rapper endorsed clothing line, that was overly fascinated with denim.
That eventually also ruined the culture ability to show growth professionally for people into hiphop as a look.
Where the business casual aesthetic reg know brought to the corporate world, created the fascination and boom ability of these clothing companies.
Well, after the Kani and Maurice Malone begin era.
After the transition from the the de-evolution of the draw from troop, task force to used and damaged.
Where clothes became simple because Maurice Malone was rightfully taxing clothes designers. for trying to make clothes with his accents and designs.
So, they went another route and it became imo, let's short change the consumer for clothes and give them less.
for a higher cost and make them spend more money.
So, the price justification for Maurice Malone inspired denim boutique priced pants and gear was lost.
All, because fashion of course can be oversaturated and go out of style.
Yet, the style was so b*stardized by the non-culturally and culturally associated clothing companies.
They soon played themselves out.
trying to profit and not create pieces worth the cost/price.
In that is how this downgraded lack of material based clothing.
they have now mixed with early nineties t shirt fascination arose and in that.
is how anyone can get into being a hipster clothing brand.
With very little accents or adds or pluses.
that do not reflect the asking price of the designer or fashion label.
It is all a good head fake based in an era that has relevancy but an era ignored.
All, because they don't want you as a consumer to know you are being ripped off.
All these companies are getting by on pricing models.
Their product really does not have the real prestige/craftsmanship from the era, they are selling you.
Which is why someone could believe skating is bigger than hiphop.
When, it is not possible, but when the main commercial gateway pillar of hiphop is destroyed as a draw.
Like breaking was and Tommy in thrashing is like break'n is dead.
It looks exactly how it did, at that time.
Except skating vertical also met the same fate as breaking and the flatland street era spawned by mullen, during that time arose.
When, flatland or street was kinda looked at as solely mullen's thing.
Till street got injected wit the culture of hiphop.
to take away the figure skating mastery and inherrent connected softness of mullen's airtight professional routines.

Street skating, like the other pillars.
arose to cover up for the death of the mainstream explosion of breakin in a commercial setting.

Now, am I glad skating has an explosion again,...hell yeah.
As, it gives me something to go out and do and still connect.
to how it kinda was culturally for me in hiphop.
Way before and after I discovered a love for skating, in 85-86.
The, only bad part is, I can't tell who is who.
All, because the look is so b*stardized.
You, don't know who to trust in the same manner you did when shyt was real.

A lot of Supreme shyt did fall off hype was dying down but it's back up again. It's all good I still cop heat items that 99% of hype beast fakkits miss out on.
i known them dudes since they first opened shop back in '94.. when they were more exclusive, they were the sh!t..

speaking of which.. i still got my Supreme Wallabes stashed somewhere.. :patrice:

Muskra is that dude.
Plus, I kinda wanna say the skytop ii is becoming my favorite pair of shoes ever.
Even tho, they do lift from my favorite jordan the six's and I wanna say who designed the skytop ii.
Looks like he designed the original kobe hi when he first came back from injury, too.
Which is why I love my numerous pairs of skytops I and ii's.
Although supra did bait and switch on these third gen gold cheetah print skytop ii's.

Wait hold up,....
Supreme wallo's,....
Man, up us a pix puh-lease.
Take me back to my wallo champ days.
after I stopped being the wallo champ of Chicago.

Ayo, so supreme can make a pair of wallabee supreme track gym shoe and runners, then.
You, should pitch that to them.

Muska & my friend Josh actually designed the Skytop.. it was originally from a designer shoe, but the name i cant recall at the moment.. it was literally, almost the exact same shoe.. with slight changes, tho.. :dead:

random little fact: Josh, his older brother had a shoe company back in the day called Creative Recreation.. this was after Brandon left Vans, were him and some friends were designers since the early-mid 90s.. when they were at Vans, they designed a Half-Cab that nobody was rocking... they had the strap across the strings..

fast forward to around 2000.. Creative Recreation, puts this shoe on the market:

:mjpls:

they actually, had an entire line of really dope shoes.. alot of which, you can see the direct influence on Supra and alot of other folks in the industry.. we ended up doing a shoe company called 4ce, shortly after that did skate, trainer and casual shoes. this was back in '01..

alot of styles you see now.. directly from that..

so, what people are seeing coming out now.. has already been out.. almost, to a T.

as for the Supreme Wallo's.. i think they may be at Florida, in my Moms garage.. i know i still got em, because theres a few kicks i still have around, even after moving and losing shyt so much throughout the years.. Supreme used to have all kinds of dope kicks back in the day.. being their (originally)owned by Stussy, they really had no problem making alot of connections & co-branding go down in the industry..

Whoa whoa,....now, that is some brand history for your ass.
You mean to tell me Creative recreation.
who before supra was my brand was made as a half cab, with strap, originally.
The caesario le premium, I own all the hot first Gen Italian backed leather creative rec's and the second Italian backed Gen two hot caesario le's.
I even own the Gen one black snakeskin Velcro castellano they stopped making in Gen two.

To the point, I bought in extreme bulk and frequency sixteen pairs of caesario's from o6-07.

Plus, that was my brand of all brands for a long time before I started rocking supra as much as I do.
That is some real interesting shyt to know.
No wonder I dig both those brands and they are/were my go to brands.
I got one more pair of creative recreations to cop all time and I am done.
Yet and still, this makes the ones I have way more interesting, now.
Six degrees of separation for real......
Plus, given the history of the tk and how that was an ysl shoe as well.
Just made affordable,...i am glad they did lift the supra I off the same idea.
Most of the hot shoes in our price range is a ripoff of a high end brand shoe for a fraction of the cost
