The Age of Enlightenment, in my opinion. It severely weakened the church's influence, and paved the way for modern liberalism.

There's some pushback happening in Europe, like Hungary, Russia, and Poland.

What about Christians with terminal illness who pray every day?

So if a human being has a terminal disease it's because they sinned in your doctrinal view point?
Generational curses

his answer was dumb.. bible actually speaks on curses. you can curse your own seed, be cursed etc.
That part... and before ya'll respond with "That's not fair," I never said it was. Just answering the question...and because I want to be messy, I'm going to throw this out there :lolbron:. If you're a Christian, you believe in the story of Adam and Eve, the first generational curse. We were all punished for the sins of two people. That's how this all started. :francis:

Generational curses
Deuteronomy 24:16 kjv
16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Can you exegete this verse for me?

Ezekiel 18:19-20

19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.

20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Christianity's zealots have gone into politics and banking, and don't let random commentary get in the way of business. In the US they'll keep quiet (for now) and fill the courts with conservative judges, and then go after Hollywood later piecemeal. That's just one example.

Our God ... being alive defends himself

He also says that he will in the Bible

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in duetime;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

Deuteronomy 32:35

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord

Romans 12:19

We serve a living God not a dead God

Christians care enough about their God to listen to His commandments and not murder unbelievers because 'vengeance is mine' says the Lord.

There's already been centuries of religious wars. If Christians got busy like back in the day, there would be all kinds of crying about how brutal Christianity is like when people talk about the crusades.

Luke 4:8 Christ is quoting Deuteronomy chapter 6 the thirteen verse. "it is written" Lord here in this verse you're quoting is the greek word "Kyrios" meaning master. The greek word for God here is "Theon" which is in reference to the most high GOD. Theos is used to refer to christ. And theos isn't used in the greek in the verse you quoted.

John 4:22-23
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

True worshipers in John 4 worship the father not the son.

Mark 10:18
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God (theon).

The simple answer is, yes; most Christians will not engage in any violence if Jesus/Christianity is attacked, but they do care. You might not understand or fail to grasp the magnitude of what their (the hardcore evangelicals) hot button issue is, and as a result underestimate their will and mistake their reticence for apathy.

They are laser-focused on fulfilling the end-time prophecies of the bible, which hinges primarily around the nation of Israel. When you truly understand this; the support for Trump, and the willingness to blow up everything to make this happen, will make more sense to you. You will also stop focusing on trivial issues like twitter beef and take note.

Just take a minute to think that the biggest block for Israel is white evangelicals from the bible belt. Most of them don't even give a shyt about Jews. Just look at the moves Pence and more importantly Pompeo are making. Are these the actions of people who don't care? They might not be as bombastic as the clerics in Iran for example, but they are every bit as determined and way better at what they do. When you have powerful guys at the very top fighting your battles for you under the guise of political diplomacy, why the hell should you be bothered over some clown on twitter mocking Jesus?

I actually don't even think a lot of Christians particularly align with Jesus's passivity any longer (another mistake we all make). A guy like Trump is more in step with them.

Your dreams
If a person has a terminal lllness it could be do to sin, but it’s not “necessarily” the only reason why God would allow someone to die in that manner.

When an individual dies, it not only impacts the person that dies but everyone around him or her. So the way a person passes absolutely plays a huge role on a persons impact after death. God allowed Nipsey Hussle to die in that manner for a reason, God allowed Kobe and his Daughter to die in that manner for a reason. It sounds bad because you’re placing human senses over spiritual. The spirit is forever, and if Kobe Gianna And Nipsey found Christ they are in Heaven with God and in peace for eternity.

Sorry breh but... this sounds like fanatical religious insane babble.

If God is indeed what religion claims he is then he isn't out here orchestrating elaborate murders coz he works in mysterious ways.

Otherwise he made men into flesh so that he could basically torture us? Coz he could have made us completely spiritual.

SMH - SO God made a little girl die a terrifying horrific death for a reason. He made a man watch in helpless agony, (even for a very short time) as his child plumeted to certain death knowing there was nothing he could do to save her...:stopitslime:
