Because casting directors don't care where you are from as long as you can act, and can mask an accent if a character demands it. The supply of actors outweighs the supply of roles in UK and Aus. Thus they go to a larger market.

Cause they want to hone their craft and be great at it, then the money come later. Americans these days, especially the young ones, want to get money as fast as they can without being good at anything.

I honestly think it's because Hollywood is lowkey and they think they want a certain type of Northern European look that isn't necessarily the norm in America. They want people who look British and the people who look most British...are the British and Australians
