We need to start eating them shrooms and psychaodelics again. :mjpls: That's how they spoke to Him back in the day. Besides, Jesus is a prototype hippie, he ain't gonna show his face unless you got dat good. :youngsabo:

Can you imagine all the rewrites he's made to The Word we don't even know of yet because the man outlawed a vital means of communication? Food for thought. :mjpls:

:whoa: No blasphemy :whoa:

I have grown up a believer, and still pretty much am, but sometimes its really hard to make sense of things, such as...

Why is it that we should believe in something that never shows its there? The believers will say that god communicates with you in his own way, but anyone could say that, that is just not factual. My biggest question is why should I believe? Some people say they just "feel it", feel what?

Its like God is telling you I want you to believe in me completely but I will never show you that I am there. :why:, how can anyone say this makes sense?

The mind is an incredible thing and you could start believing in a tree if you read enough myths about it.

Those who believe please tell me WHY it is you believe.

Why are you asking others about what you believe? :sayword: That's basically what you're doing. Choose your own path, you're old enough. Don't let people influence you one way or the other.

If you don't want to believe, don't. But don't come to a forum populated by non believers and ask for an answer to a question that's not even relevant to them. It's disingenuous.

Good luck on your journey breh, whatever the destination.

OP

Youre on the right path loc. Keep thinking about this shyt. If it doesnt make sense, dont make an excuse for it. Remember who wrote these holy books... people who thought the sun circled the earth. Think about the people who keep reinforcing these myths... people who want you to put money in a collection basket.

Look at the bible itself. Its makes not one shred of gotdamned sense. Think about this "god" that wants to have a "relationship" with you but never shows up. Ask yourself if you wanted a chick, is that how youd go getting her? Would she have to have faith that you even existed or would she know for a fact?

I stopped believing because there was literally zero reason to believe.

i wont tell you what to believe, but i will suggest you treat the decision to believe in invisible beings the way you would treat the decision to buy a new car. if you notice that you have put far more scrutiny into which car to buy than into which invisible deity to believe in, then you know you have some serious work to do.

Theological noncognitivism is the position that discussions about 'G-d', omnipotence and related subjects are cognitively meaningless. Simply put Theological Noncognitivism is opposed to making up a word and then discussing it. Issues surrounding the qualities of 'G-d' and the limits of human intellect make Theological Noncognitivism a significant threat to theism and to specific forms of atheism.

First thing's first, homie.

God didn't tell you to believe in him.

A 2000+ year old book told you that God told some people 2000+ years to believe in him... forever. But he didn't tell anyone else since.

He didn't tell you. If God came and told you Himself, then you wouldn't have a problem believing. Or you'd think he was an Alien. Or some bad drugs. Or your sanity's failing. Or The Illuminati.

Or that nikka crazy.

You'd have a hard time believing it was God.

Today I read a book where some well known comic book characters brought together the 6 pieces of the old universe's soul so Captain America could save two realities.

It didn't work and they casted Cap out for being to idealistic.

Maybe in 2000 years people will be praying that Reed Richards figures it all out and Tony Stark will save them all.

what's it to you?

I agree with you.

Plus I think it was very christ-like

You see, the notion of jesus is very different from what the text actually gives us. If you actually read the bible you see jesus was a self serving pompous asshat.

Allow me this one example of Mark 14

14 Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. 2 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or the people may riot.”

3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.

4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? 5 It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages[a] and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly.

6 “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.
:scusthov:

What we see here is the opportunity for good to help the poor, but jesus selfishly denies the request to help the poor, and for what? This moron knew he would only be dead for three days, tops. Plus if he was worried about stinking, hes god right, he could just not stink. Either way, jesus threw the poor in the bushes and admitted that there was no hope for them, even making certain that the poor would always be there by saying it.

jesus was so demonic, friends. :smugbiden:

If you feel bad about not believing, just keep putting money in the collection plate. That's all they're really after anyway.
