I prefer Drake’s music over Kanye’s nowadays. Both ain’t really that great though. Kanye as a producer is better.

I don’t even fukk with Ye like that after them first three albums, but this mans r&b production discography may be better than Drakes entire career. Until Drake get on the MPC ain’t no comparison. Neither one of these dudes great on the mic.

Drake followed Kanye’s blueprint but why doesn’t he get the acceptance Kanye did. Cause he didn’t work in the music industry as long?
I mean Kanye was a critically acclaimed producer that was already loved by fans and peers alike before fans even knew he rapped.

A lot of the praise he gets by people that call him a genius isn't so much from his bars or his lyrics, but is more so revolved around his production and overall vision at bringing albums and concepts to life.

I mean...before he even dropped one album, he had already planned out and announced the titles of his first 4 albums. The first 3 he followed through on, and even though Good Ass Job never came out, the fact that he had a vision so early for Dropout, Registration, and Graduation is pretty crazy. Plus he was producing albums for other rappers and helping revive their careers like Common.

Drake's not a producer, and in many ways Drake was influenced by Little Brother, Kanye West, Slum Village, etc. It's less likely to be called genius when you're sort of following a path that was laid before you.

Drake has made incredibly influential music though.

Thats facts? Source?
Lupe didn't write the black album. That's bullshyt through and through.

A million people been in the studio with Jay and have seen him craft songs from beginning to end. shyt, even I've been up there at Bassline Studios back in the day.

Also, it's such a goofy statement to make about The Black Album in particular, when Tee Smith documented the creation of that entire album, and parts of it are watchable on the Fade to Black movie.

@Pool_Shark Lupe didn't write The Black Album for Jay. That's an absurd take. Jay did kind of shark Young Chris' style a bit, that's for sure. But the Lupe thing is false.
