I’ll offer Randy Couture vs James Toney as a small example of don’t underestimate grappling. It’s not as simple as well I’ll uppercut them when they shoot for a takedown. A power double isn’t the only way you can end up on your back getting elbowed to the face.

MMA closely mimicks street fights in the sense they start on the feet but there’s all kinds of ways to end up on your back and people that strictly box aren’t at all prepared to get their legs attacked or what to do if you get ankle picked or some shyt

I’ve seen too many brothers get manhandled simply because they only had hands and some smaller cat knew basic grappling. We gotta stop looking at grappling as some ineffective form of fighting. Brothers at the least should learn how to fight off a clinch/takedown attempt or at LEAST how to get back up
what do you know about boxing footwork?

Uninformed thread.
Boxing footwork does not teach sprawls or guard escapes. This is just as bad as boxing casuals saying “Why don’t they just start swinging?” Those “grabs” make you feel as weak as a baby when you don’t know what you’re doing.

nikkas that stan boxing and post stupid shyt about grappling just because they don’t like it are just as bad as the MMA nikkas that do the opposite. Grow up - every discipline that’s successfully implemented is effective.

this is the type of stuff they'll have to learn on their own :sas2: they bringing up washed ass boxers who fought in mma for example meanwhile it was a boxer who took out the mma darling in her prime and sent her to wwe to be a family woman. :sas2:

Facts. Front face locks, full Nelson’s and RNC’s have saved us from lawsuits with folks we’d have otherwise had to put hands on to get them out of the club.

A front face lock applied right always ends a fight, had many a “tough guy” on the ground trying to say “I give, I quit”

are we comparing you beating up drunk nikkas to a trained boxer vs a trained bjj

Brown belts from a bullshyt gym? Sure. Tell me how BJ Penn and Damian Maia were easily outgrappling all American wrestlers in the UFC? But listen, you can do this another way too. You box, right? Go into a bjj gym and challenge someone who has been doing it for as long as you’ve been boxing. Just “give them a straight right or an uppercut” as you put it. Do that and post a video since it’s so easy.

I don’t box or do bjj so that would be pointless. I’ve wrestled before and then stupidly went against a bjj guy thinking I wouldn’t get choked, though. Guess what happened? Anyway, it sounds like you don’t believe in what you preach. Scared to put your own theory to the test?

Not really. But it’s the most likely scenario you’ll find the two arts being used outside of mma or a gym.

Simply stating why I trained in standing as well as learning grappling because at my size me putting someone to sleep or subduing them is much more cost effective (getting sued) than me setting them up for a clean shot to the chin via a knee or a hook.

I know plenty about footwork, guaging distance, fainting to see what they’re biting and reacting to, cutting angles, setting traps and walking people into the punch I see open to put them down. Learned how to box before I ever touched a basketball thanks to my old man and my brothers.

I’m an easy going cat for a reason.

Me and my breh @puppetmaster used to bounce/do security...putting cats in front facelocks or rear naked chokes is an effective way to end confrontations

you talking about some top flight of the world shyt.... im talkin about 2 nikkas gettin em up .

you tryna de-escalate shyt , of course you grab and restrain like a CO
