Having a problem with how people spend their time (that's not hurting anyone) is more of a problem you got to personally deal with mane.
Again, I don't have a problem with how folks spend their time. You're either misinterpreting my point on purpose to run with a strawman you already had in your pocket coming into here, or you're not comprehending what I'm saying.

I'm asking what's the point in continuing to watch something that you keep on complaining about, desperately trying to compare it to your childhood memories of the sport and it coming up short every single time. Year after year, after year, after year. To me, it would make sense to either stop watching the product, altogether, or saving yourself the energy and time complaining about it all the time and using it for something else.

I'm trying to work out exactly what benefit is there to keep watching something y'all don't like.

I mean, hoops ain't that serious. It's not like you're contractually obliged to keep watching, or you have to out of some debt you have to pay. You can just stop and nothing is going to affect your life. You can move on and find something more enjoyable.

I want to understand why folks feel as though they to complain every year and do nothing about it. What is the logic behind it.
I mean why not simply filter it? The ignore feature is there.
This is patently ridiculous.

Again, I'm not the one complaining.

Shouldn't you be asking those to simply filter out the 'new NBA' and ignore it? I mean, that's what I'm trying to illustrate with this thread.
You expecting it to change if it's been going on for years is kind of a lost cause ain't it?
You don't see it's a lost cause to keep on complaining about a product that isn't going to change?

You keep on proving my point.

I'm telling folks the league isn't going to change, so what's the sense in keep on complaining about it as if it will? The same folks complaining about it now will still be here this time next year doing the same thing (they've been doing it for years now).

I haven’t cared about the NFL since like 2019 and I don’t come in their threads and complain
Finally someone with some sense.

You admit you don't care for the NFL, and you don't go wasting your time/energy on crying about it in thread after thread because you know it would be a pointless exercise that doesn't benefit you in any capacity. A lot of posters would benefit from taking this route - if only for their own good.

I think you're actually misunderstanding me more than anything.

I'm not talking about the league changing, I'm talking about you expecting people to stop complaining about the league after they've been doing this for "Year after year, after year, after year."

That's a straight up lost cause. Is that not insanity?

They ain't changing, period. Do you honestly think people are going to stop complaining about the NBA in five years?

If anything brand new faces going to pop up and complain.

My original point is this:
When I hear people complain about something I enjoy I just go back to enjoy what I'm doing. Life is easier that way.

People are going to people. That's your answer to this entire question. This ain't brand new or NBA-specific.

I'm not expecting anyone to do anything. The last x-amount years has told me not to expect folks to change their behavior.

Again, it's probably for the best if you don't try to speak on something when you've only been on this board since March this year.

I'm simply making an observation and questioning those who're honest to answer why they keep on watching. I don't see any sense in you coming in here and questioning, or should I say, accuse me of "complaining" about an observation I made about others complaining. You can't say what I'm doing is a lost cause when I'm the one who's actually commenting on the lost cause. It defeats the entire purpose of the thread and doesn't make any sense.

I suspect the only reason why you came into this thread with your initial stance is because the hit dog in you wanted to yelp.

FWIW I copied and pasted your original post into ChatGPT right now and asked 'Would you classify this post as complaining? Yes or no:'

This was it's answer, take it as you will:
Yes, I would classify the post as complaining. The post lists a number of criticisms and expresses frustration with individuals who consistently offer negative feedback without offering any positive comments or suggestions for improvement.

Agree to disagree here then I guess. All I'm saying breh is chill a little and let people live. Aint no sense fighting for the next 20 years knowing people going to keep criticizing the NBA or anything else for that matter.

I look at it like you can enjoy something and still complain about it. Hell a lot of times the biggest complainers are the biggest fans because they are so emotionally invested into a product. And even if they enjoy it they hard on how the product could be even better.

Yeah, this isn't the case, at all, specifically talking about this board. They're not emotionally invested in shyt.

The biggest complainers are the Casuals who you can tell only glance over the box score stats and make up a narrative from it.
