Why do white people struggle with the concept of "light skinned" "dark skinned" & "brown skinned"?

Disagree. Ashanti's mom is brownskinned. Ashanti is lightskinned.

You colorblind bro :mjlol:

There is variation even within the 3 umbrella terms light, brown and dark.
Will Smith is a light skinned black man but is not the same as Steph Curry, Michael Ealy, or Drake.
Gabrielle Union is a dark skinned woman but is not as dark as Lupita.
Busta Rhymes is brown skinned but he is not the same as Dave Chapelle or Spike Lee.

Once again you categorized Megan Good as brown skinned which is correct. Ashanti is more Megan Good than Paula Patton.

You mentioned her being colored in Africa so you must come from a culture there in which you're "black" or "colored" or you come from a dark family where the limit for being called light skinned gets extended.

You're the only person calling Ashanti light skinned so :yeshrug:

I've seen similar ignorance about shades on this forum. Anyone a shade below dark skin is considered light skin and was said by multiple people.
