Imagine if one got cut on a accidental head.

This is a tournament based competition, fighting days from now with a cut would become a problem.

Thats one thing i didnt think about. Great point breh. I personally like the idea of headgear for amateur fighters.

The more important change is that theyre finally getting rid of the bullshyt system they use now and are moving to the "10 point must" system

Time to stop rewarding these Joe Calzaghe type fakkits who slap 80 times a round

The Olympics is a global tournament. Im guessing that you have to have multiple matches in a short amount of days so they dont want you to get fukked up enough to be al out of wack by your 3rd fight when you have 3 more to go. Face it most boxers be so fukked up after a fight they need at east a week to recover

headgear was incorporate for amateur boxing sometime in the 80s...to protect fighters so to speak....same measure that also did away with 15 rounds in the pros

Duk Koo Kim's death changed the sport forever...

There's a movie about him called Champion, it's on netflix

I'd prefer headgear stay for amateur bouts, but disappear for the Olympics, but that's just me

And I don't blame anybody not watching Olympic boxing, the computerized BS has done more harm than help. If only that '88 decision was simply reversed.......

^^^It wouldn't make sense for the fighters to wear headgear that whole time then take them off in the Olympics.

10 point must system can still have fighters on that Joe Calslappy steez. Only 3 rounds they would try to bounce around and score more hits than their opponents without getting hit the same way they do now in the points scoring system.
