High key, in the context of the American lifestyle, it's not easy. The biggest hurdles are the fact that most people eat emotionally, and have no idea how to track macros and shyt. From that starting point its a wonder anyone ever loses weight in this country.

Plus people are very proud; it takes humility and honesty to say "man this shyt is not working... I'm fukking up, I need to do something about this". A lot of times people with unhealthy habits will band together to reinforce those habits. I have a group of acquaintances like this, though they recently got on a weight loss kick and actually did pretty well. But they still drink like crazy and do stupid shyt and brag about it.

Yep. I've had a cap ton of fried chicken over the weekend and only jumped like 2 pounds from it. Woke up this morning and my weight was the same as it was from Friday. Made sure I stopped eating before 11

The hard thing about losing weight is consistency though, cause you usually dont see the progress you want in the first 3 months
For me thats the opposite. The first 75 days i melted and had that muscular look. After my 3 months i couldnt really see much progress until like 8 months in. Hit a plateu or something

I feel like it's the opposite...for me at least. Those first 6-8 weeks are :blessed: then I usually hit a 2 month plateau and it's like ok, might as well kill myself :( then like that the weight will drop for another 4 weeks before the next plateau.

Gotta c/s this, I mean being in your 30's in general but especially as a woman, so much of your social life involves food/drinking. Friends wanna grab brunch or drinks or some nikka wants to take you to dinner or out for drinks or your damn team at work wants to do lunch 2-3 times a week...this is a hard part for me, sometimes you gotta basically drop off the grid to stay on track.

Im very self disciplined when it comes to this. I stop drinking two years ago and being around friends who do drink dont bother me much. As for food, most places have healthy alternatives that i usually take unless i feel like having a cheat meal or two. Some people cant resist though :francis:

So damn true! All my friends always wanna drink and/or go out to eat. Then at work its really hard....everyone wanna go out to eat for lunch...they love the Chinese buffets. Then they wanna do a pot luck :francis: :hhh:or bring in doughnuts all the time or Panera bread bagels with cream cheese, some breakfast biscuits, or some type of cake or pastries. It does make it hard to lose weight. Nobody want to actually eat healthy.

U know its ok not to eat healthy and lose weight. U just have to cut your meals short to meet your macro nutritients and calories needs. I say this because the biggest excuse people say when losing weight is the diet part. Like nikka, no one telling u to eat plants and white meats for a year :dahell:

If u cant drop that doughnut then just make sure to add it to your calorie count and u good

You put some chips and guac in front or me, it's on sight :francis: that can easily hit 400 calories alone. In the grand scheme if your other days are on point, cool, but I'm literally faced with this ~4 days a week. That's a lot of, "no, I'm not going" or "I'll catch you laters"...shyt can put a damper on things.

I think people struggle with the fact that working out is not enough. People go to the gym a couple times and ruin it by eating out and drinking on the weekends. It can be frustrating. I ran a 5 K and did a 5x5 set last night, worked out for a hour basically. This morning I hiked for a hour and half. Basically thats damn near a 1000 calories burned in a 24 hour span.....and I done gained all that and more back in one day today eating and drinking cause it's a holiday :snoop:

I mean :manny:

I have always been an old soul though. I met a friend from HS recently and I told her "me n wifey dont go out much. Im an old man" She said "You have been an old man since 7th grade" :dead: I have a few friends who are uncomfortable with the fact that I don't drink. I don't need it. The way I see it, if I need to drink to enjoy something it's not worth doing. And I'm not socially anxious or any of that shyt. That's a whole other convo though.

But you are right. If social obligations take away control of your diet it's gonna be tough. I'm the same way. Put a plate of nachos or something in front of me.... I'm going in :demonic: So during cutting season the only time I go out is to eat with my wife.
