Why do so many rappers false claim Atlanta?

Most top artist come from a place where you can "rep", it gives you a built in fan base you can build off of, its marketing/branding 101 type shyt plus ATL has been arguably the epicenter of hiphop the last 15-20 years.. You could blow up in that scene and get fast tracked plus work with other artist as they had a known support system.

Its like when people really be from broward but they rep miami (doesnt happen as much but thats how it is).. You can travel around the world and they may not even know where florida is but everyone has heard of Miami due to exposure on tv or media. I have had that happen to me before but kinda similar.

yep, born in raised in Alabama then moved to Atlanta in his teen years so depending on perspective I guess he can claim it. Never heard him rap about Alabama though.

Yes Gwinnett is like 20-30 miles from Atlanta. It's worse than someone from Newark claiming Harlem lol.

Cap Gucci always mentions Alabama and how he moved to East Atlanta at the age of nine. He even mentions moving back to Alabama when there was a bounty on him and his van got shot up.
