I feel you I actually hate the system and know that these private prisons are making billions off inmates. I just want a career where I can hopefully change someones life, doesnt hurt that I will be eating well off it too. I didn't want to go college, and I def don't flip burgers
And that is perfectly fine, doggie. I wouldn't wish the student loans on anyone unless you have to. Do what you feel works for you. But don't fool yourself into thinking any career can be attained just winging it like you are.

I see college for... doctor, teacher, lawyer
and a few other occupations I may have forgot, everything else you can do solo
its a joke, its only needed like a drivers license is needed ot drive a car even though you know how to drive a car, you gotta take the tests and pay the fees etc. the same how to me college university most majors are a joke and are only needed so that so and so company when they post an ad a bachelors in so and so is needed o ra masters, its all about putting you in debt so you accept crappy pay when you graduate or a crappy entry level gig
Honestly, if I didn't want to study medicine, I'd have went straight to the Air Force after high school. College is essential when it comes to obtaining skills that will help you procure a "professional" career, but if you're going just to go and don't have on plan, it's better to join the military or take up a trade. My boy has an absolute useless major and is back home because he burnt out, but he is still a year and some change from graduating, yet he's saddled with thousands of dollars of debt. In this economy, it's just not worth it if you're not going for something that you need to use college for as a stepping stone. I do agree with whoever stated that there are tremendous networking opportunities at university. You make friends and rub elbows with the right people, and they will look out for you down the line.

Yeah everyone should go to college though. Those two years. I went college I made so many connects. I can go to any big city in America and get a job, because of the people I met in college. Got them on Facebook. When I go to Vegas and live in April. I already have a job waiting for me
A College education is a calling card. Nothing more, nothing less. You can make it without one, but it's much harder to succeed.
Problem with College is kids feel they go to College and get a great job. No. You need to make that degree work for you. But they don't tell kids that.

that's why i waited to go to school. at first i thought it'd be awkard but i feel like a beast as a 26 year old freshmen.
