Why do people like EDM?

For the most part yes, but it depends on the artist. There's one cat I came across a couple years ago that makes pretty soulful shyt.
It's funny in interview he describes his music as electric soul and rhythm, but his fans think it's an alternative form of EDM, because they have no idea his music influenced by r&b, jazz and blue( influenced by black Artist). A lot of organists on his squad are black too.

I'm very big into EDM

I go to festivals and stuff. Most of what I currently produce is EDM

There's so much EDM out there that's impossible to hate on, you should check out more songs before writing it off

And yeah the Aoki track you posted is specifically for a festival environment. Playing it at a bar wouldn't really give the same reaction

Mos def there's literally something for everyone. For me I love the real jazzy sounds with a bit of synthesizers depending on my mood. Can I listen to that shyt any time of day? Nah, but I like that stuff while working out or driving with no traffic...

Yeah Big Room “House” gets no play whatsoever from me and it stays far away from my playlists

That shyt was the wave in EDM during much of the early to mid ‘10s along with the cac interpretation of Dubstep. Felt like the WOAT period in dance music tbh.
