The moment that white woman put those charges on him it shattered white America’s ideals of Kobe as the next Jordan they could prop up. He was pretty much tossed to the shadow realm after that and it didn’t help that he was viewed as a “snitch” for speaking on Shaq’s business at a time when Shaq was universally beloved.

He was cleared but it felt like the remnants of that stench stayed on him until he won that 5th championship. Still he was never again able to reach that golden boy trajectory he was on before the allegations. The fact he was able to shake it off as well as he DID was a testament to his immense talent and determination. He literally BALLED his way back into the public’s good graces.

Both of these posts are stupid.

If you frequent r/NBA and r/NBATalk like I do, you would notice that they have a noticeable bias against Kobe. IT'S NOT LIKE HERE. Its a noticeable, observable bias as in people think he's top 15 at best. It's irrational and not objective.

So yea, I googled Kobe threads and this popped up. It doesn't matter that it was four months ago The Coli would never have a 600 post thread in 2024 about Kobe being a rapist So obviously if cacs are still talking about this man as a rapist, then of course that plays a role in why they discredit him so much.
