yeah, it is. Nevermind how stupid it actually looked. She Wonder Woman now?

Force Ghosts make some sense within the franchise, given some of the religious connotations

The Force is typically used in these films to move shyt around, be it inanimate objects, living beings, or the force users themselves. In Empire we see Luke (with little training) use a force jump during his battle with Vader. We see various Jedi's using the force to jump or outright levitate throughout the prequels. fukking Luke is levitating himself near the end of The Last Jedi.

If you wanna say it looks silly that's one thing (and subjective), but lets not act like it's something that broke previously established rules of the Force.

the outrage over Lukes arc is stupid.

dude bet it all on his nephew, saw that going left, contemplated a power move, but as a result had that nephew slaughter all his students and leave him for dead. That's the type of tramautic event that changes a character, especially years down the line when they naturally become :flabbynsick:.

People really expected dude to come back guns blazing and be the man he was when he took out Vader :dead::dead::dead:

*SPOILERS BELOW*

This man gets it. The Luke arc was done pretty much perfectly IMO.

Snoke stuff was weak, Casino stuff took too long, and we set ourselves up for the okie doke with Rey's lineage.

Liked everything else.

Meh...Darth Vader murdered millions of people, and Luke still held out hope that he could be turned back to the light. He didn't even fight back at him until Vader pushed him to the edge. Standing over a sleeping nephew and contemplating murdering him because of what he senses is not a Luke Skywalker characteristic.

By that time he probably learned about how his father was tempted and saw it happening with Ren. In him trying to prevent a similar situation he in turn caused it.

I said this in the main thread, but overall the biggest problem is the new characters. I don't mind what they did with Luke and even Leia, but Finn, Poe and Rose are fukking useless. We spent over an hour on their stupid ass plan and it didn't even work. All they did was get a bunch of resistance fighters killed and make all three of them look like dumbasses.

Poe Dameron arguably got it the worst of the three because he's supposed to be a military commander but acts like a hotheaded idiot multiple times, puts multiple peoples lives at risk, and refuses to listen to his superiors. His whole storyline could have been avoided with better writing. I know militaries have a chain of command, but somebody should have just told him about their plan to take the transports to the salt planet, and been like, "Here, this is what we need you to do, now sit your ass down and shut the fukk up until we tell you to. " Plus Laura Dern's character, "Yeah, he just disobeyed orders multiple times, put the entire resistance in danger and committed mutiny, but I like him." Man, fukk you.

Ignoring the fact that Finn is still stuck on white p*ssy Rey, his whole storyline with Rose amounts to absolutely nothing. He almost gets her killed on multiple occasions, the entire casino sequence was basically just filler because nothing in it mattered for the rest of the film. Even when he tried to destroy the cannon on the salt planet it didn't serve any purpose other than so Rose could end the movie in a coma just like he did in TFA.

Rose is barely even a character. She only exists so Finn can have a tag along buddy, and possibly a love interest for Finn because Rey friendzoned the fukk out of him. All her dialogue is full of stupid idealistic platitudes that don't really mean anything, and whatever they were planning with that kiss fell flat because it was totally unearned. Like, bytch, you just met this nikka today. That was just as bad as the El Diablo scene in Suicide Squad.

And don't even get me started on Benicio Del Toro. They better have something big planned for him in Episode IX (lol, they don't) because he was worthless too. That whole hacker storyline was fukking dumb, and his fukking stutter. :snoop:

I don't think the movie is trash, but it's certainly not anything that would win over the casual fan that didn't care that much about Star Wars.

Luke didn't hold out hope that Vader had good in him, he said multiple times that he sensed/felt the good in Vader. With Ben he didn't sense any good, just someone spiraling further into the dark side, and even then he ultimately decided not to do it.

People also keep glossing over the fact that it's a 30+ year gap between the end of ROTJ and TFA. All that "It's not how Luke would have acted" shyt doesn't mean anything because he's not going to be the same person he was at the end of ROTJ.

Better question is why do people act like their world is shattered if somebody doesn't like the same things they do? :jbhmm:

Don't tell me I'm bugging either because this thread wouldn't exist if you weren't feeling this way

But it was hope in him, because he sensed good in him but he was still doing bad. Ben had bad in him but the good wasn't gone either. Even Smoke knew that, which was the biggest reason he was disappointed in him. He killed Han but couldn't shoot on Leah

So basically once again it boils down to wild inconstancy and bad writing between Force Awakens and TLJ. You can't really make sense out this stuff

I like the movie , but I definitely would say people can have legit gripes with being pissed about it
