Why do people claim QBs are gonna refuse to play for a bad team?

How many teams have a “history of developing QBs”? Who did the giants “develop” in the 50 years prior to eli? Phil Simms who was a solid QB?

Plus the staff who “developed” these QBs aren’t here when you get to the team

There’s no evidence of “most” leveraging shyt.

The answers are all there in my original post. What happened to San Diego's last 1st round QB they drafted? What do the Giants have that the Chargers don't? Front offices start with the owner and trickles down to the field.

How many players from that superbowl roaster were still there? What about coaches?

4 years is a lifetime in the nfl
It's not about having the exact team from 2000. The point is the Giants were a much stronger franchise who was more likely to get back to that point again.

But they have no better record at “developing” QBs lol.

I think you're taking the developing QBs part way too literal. Not even colleges go from great QB to great QB and look at what Alabama just did. QB development plan is very important if you're going to put a billion dollar franchise on the back of a 21 year old. Look at Carolina struggling with Young while two QBs they had on roster that were supposedly trash are winning on other teams.

Do you feel like Carolinas Front office is doing all they can to help Young develop? Eli's dad played QB in the NFL and knows what to look for as a bad situation. They got money so there was no need to throw his son to the wolves for an NFL checks. That whole fiasco embarrassed the chargers and made them step their game up as a franchise.

and it paid off.

On top of that, the player empowerment era allows players to do this without much pushback.

Honestly, for the NFL it's mostly just stupid ass talking point banter because we can't comprehend that bad teams need talent and they tend to start with the QB. When NBA talking points start seeping into the NFL, it makes NFL discussion horrible. I saw a take a while back from Paul Pierce where he was like "Lamar Jackson can't take the next step until he leaves Baltimore for a bigger market." Makes me wanna turn the channel to MLB Network and leave it there.
When did this being?

That team was 4 years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, had a much stronger history in both mystique and actual success, and was in New York.
A lot of teams are 4 years removed from rings. Just look at all the champs and go 4 years back.

Like GSW, Chiefs, Broncos, Bucs etc.

But as far as clout, attraction power etc. yes ofc, giants and chargers (?) are/were not in the same league

With NIL things are different now. If the Panthers pick #1 OVR this year(highly likely), would you want your son playing for Tepper, one of the worst owners in all of sport?

You can go back to college, get NIL bread, take out insurance against injury and try again in a year
A bad team, and even possibly that same team, will always be picking #1 which is why I never get the argument ppl try to make of someone going back to school for that reason
