I'd like to see how you say Gucci lyrical but Migos not, with the same subject matter and similar flowsHe may steal guccis flow but hes no gucci
Before we begin, what's your definition of lyrical?I'd like to see how you say Gucci lyrical but Migos not, with the same subject matter and similar flows
this coming from someone who has heard nearly all of both artists material
but hey whatever
OFFSET ALONE is better than most of his peers.Gucci Mane is, migos no
You need to pay attention to when Offset hits the mic.Wouldn't say Migos are lyrically talented but they def can flow their ass off
lolOFFSET ALONE is better than most of his peers.
Like so you're telling me if I read an Alexander Pushkin poem to someone like Walt Whitman he's not going to fukk with it because it's a different format?
Transcendentalists ain't fukking with other nikkas shyt
I hate how people on here associate lyricism with nikkas like canibus. Just because he uses certain types of words and probably preaches self knowledge, nikkas in here are on nikkas dikks hard cause they're one dimensional, not understanding that being a lyricist has nothing to do with attempting to look complex like 90% of NY's rappers.
If you listen to what Gucci says, and follow his structure, then you'll see he's a lyricist. The problem with most rap fans, is that they're looking for something to be said that's highly intellectual and packs depth, simply because they're not intelligent themselves. So when you listen to Gucci, listen with that brain of yours that isn't expect this report on politics and Obama being a Freemason or some shyt.
"Lyrical" is not a word that should be associated with Gucci or Migos. The South has some prolific lyricists, but those acts are not one of them.
Really just shut the F up
The Migos and Gucci are not lyrical.
Gucci says a lot more in his music than people want to give him credit for but he doesn't do it in a lyrical way.
Nothing about The Migos is lyrical. Not the way they rhyme, not the concepts, nothing.
this generation is so fukked up, smh, damn. you should be hogtied and burned for even making this thread.
As an outsider, we understand their fan-base consists of individuals, like you, who cannot construct complete sentence to express the sentiment they wish to share. Therefore are most likely not enrolled in college, nor have the necessary skills to compete in a westernized labor force, and that means they thrive in an environment of anti-social tolerances and black dysfunction.
If they don't even comprehend being oppressed how can they share "lyrics", of poetic exaggeration, illustrating the plight that overshadows inner-city living?
Ignorance is bliss...no one is "acting" like they aren't anything.
Post some examples no songs just examples of there lyricism
Na, them nikkas aren't lyrical. I never listened to Gucci, and thought, "Yeah, that's something that took time. I can't do that."
They don't really listen
Gucci Mane's lyricism is one of the most under-appreciated and ignored phenomena in rap today. Take a listen to a mixtape like Chicken Talk or Ice Attack and pay close attention to his wordplay... he was saying more than just about any trap artist at the time. Today though, I think his lyricism has waned, as has his beat selection too; nothing beats those Zaytoven/Gucci tapes from the mid 2000s.
These dudes style isn't even really about lyrics, its more about flows, beats, and the actual performance. I'm pretty sure they don't even write their lyrics, but come up with their shyt more vibe based on the beat and let the flow carry the track.
And I'm not even saying that means they are wack. But I don't think they take a truly lyrical approach to their raps. I'd say even Young Jeezy is more lyrical, in the sense he actually does things lyrically, even if its the most basic metaphors or double entendres, he actually will use a poetic device occasionally.
Post lyrics or shut the fukk up
How can the OP say this and post no lyrics?

I've just accepted that people ain't really LISTENING to Gucci. The problem is that most people, mainly eastcoast people, think that lyricism is some sort of metaphor wrapped up in a simile, baked over a double entendre, served with a side of punchlines...when half the time the rapper saying such a thing just exposes himself as a smart dumb nikka...I like Lupe a lot but if you actually listen to his lyrics he says a TON of smart dumb shyt that is outright lies or so contradictory as to have no real point in being talked about...Jay does it as well
They don't understand that lyricism is nothing more than saying something mundane and making it witty...
Gucci is a particularly painful subject for these so called lyricist fans, cause people always seem to call out gucci for not being lyrical...but all these lyrical rappers who talk about selling drugs and busting guns...are talking about gucci's real life...so really...who is the one who should be ridiculed?
Futhermore as a dude who grew up in the south and ran the streets...a dude like Gucci's lines have a certain authenticity to them...or really any rappers will...if you have ever seen, lived, or been around some of the things they rap about...
I don't take Napoleon as the dumb type though, I think he's a square that likes to try and fit in with dumb nikkas for to be ironic or some shyt.
As for either of these acts being "lyrical", we can do this either one of two ways....well written SONGS or ability driven verses/performances, i'm sure gucci would fare better than those other cats, but just because you like how they ride beats doesn't mean they are "lyrical".
Last migos song I heard then nikka (s) just repeated hannna montana over and over again. If you want to debate this you could at least throw up some links in the OP instead of just floating it out there telling everybody who disagrees that we are somehow missing something.
Scarface and canibus sound nothing alike...he's one of the most influential lyricists of all times. Devin the dude is a lyricist and he also doesn't fit your criteria of the stereotypical rippity rap ass nikka. Either post up some bars or some well written songs or kill that noise.
