The
origins of Judaism lie in the
Bronze Age polytheistic
Ancient Semitic religions, specifically
Canaanite religion, a syncretization with elements of
Babylonian religion and of the worship of
Yahweh reflected in the early
prophetic books of the
Hebrew Bible.
During the Iron Age I, the Israelite religion became distinct from other Canaanite religions due to the unique monolatristic (proto-monotheistic) worship of Yahweh.
During the
Babylonian captivity of the 6th and 5th centuries BCE (Iron Age II), certain circles within the exiled
Judahites in Babylon redefined pre-existing ideas about monotheism, election, divine law and Covenant into a strict monotheistic theology which came to dominate the former Judah in the following centuries.[1]
From the 5th century BCE until 70 CE,
Israelite religion developed into the various theological schools of
Second Temple Judaism, besides
Hellenistic Judaism in the
diaspora. Second Temple Judaism was significantly influenced by
Zoroastrianism.
The text of the Hebrew Bible was redacted into its extant form in this period and possibly also canonized as well.
So it seems that Judaism is a combination of caaninite and babylonian religions that were redacted and monotheitized into one religion...that would branch off into other sects and religions i.e. "christianity"...
Sooooo...which version of "christianity" did the first century jews practice???..."white christianity" or "black christianity"...and which version was authentic at the time???...
How can either be "authentic" if texts were redacted and compiled with other texts???...
The text of the Hebrew Bible was redacted into its extant form in this period and possibly also canonized as well.
And why did ancient worshipers worshiping multiple gods???...
The people of ancient Israel and Judah, however, were not followers of Judaism: they were practitioners of a polytheistic culture worshiping multiple gods, concerned with fertility and local shrines and legends, and not with a written torah, elaborate laws governing ritual purity, or an exclusive covenant and national god.[12]

Why were the ancient people of Israel not followers of Judaism and instead worshiped multiple gods as noted above???...
1. The entire book of Exodus explains Yahweh calling the Israelites out of idolatry to worship Him alone.
2. The entire Old Testament/Torah explains their obedience/disobedience to Yahwehs commands.
3. The entirety of The Old Testament is the retelling of the history of Israel’s struggle to obey Yahweh.
4. Read Judges, 1st and 2 Kings, 1st and 2 Chronicles and it explains in detail the Israelites idolatry and mixing of other religions and the consequences of that idolatry.
5. No one disputes that ancient Israel struggled with obeying Yahweh when they came among foreign nations and false religious systems.
6. The premise that The Old Testament/Torah has been redacted to hide this is not supported by the evidence of Textual Criticism.
7. Open up the Old Testament and read it for yourself.
It’s literally right in front of you. No one is hiding it.
The Exodus account is a perfect example as to why your premise is faulty.
The reason for the plagues of Egypt by Yahweh was to demonstrate to Pharaoh and all of the Egyptians that Yahweh was superior to every God they worshipped.
Each plague
1. Heket - Egyptian god of the Nile River. The goddess of fertility and water renewal.
Yahweh shows he is superior to Heket by turning the water into blood and causing all of the fish in the water to die.
2.
Yahweh sent a second plague from the river in the form of frogs. Heket is usually depicted with the head of a frog. Pharaoh’s magicians couldn’t stop the frogs. They actually brought more when they tried to mimc Yahweh’s power.
3. Geb - Egyptian god of the earth.
Yahweh commanded Aaron to stretch out his rod over the earth and the land was filled with lice. Pharaoh’s magicians were unable to compete with Yahweh’s power over the earth to stop the lice.
4. Khepri - Egyptian god of creation
Egyptian god with a head of a fly
Yahweh sends a sworm of flies plaguing the entire land. Pharaoh tries to bargain with Yahweh but still will not let the Israelites go.
5. Hathor - Egyptian goddess of love and protection. Usually depicted with the head of a cow.
Yahweh causes the death of cattle and livestock.
6. Isis - Egyptian Goddess of medicine and peace.
Yahweh brings boils and sores upon the Egyptians. Pharoah still will not let the Israelites/Hebrews free.
7. Nut - Egyptian goddess of the sky.
Yahweh causes hail to reign down in the form of fire.
8. Seth - Egyptian god of storms and disorder.
Yahweh sends locusts from the sky destroying the Egyptians food supply.
9. Ra - The sun god
Yahweh sends darkness upon the land for 3 days. The sun THE MOST WORSHIPPED god IN EGYPT OTHER THAN PHAROH HIMSELF GAVE NO LIGHT
10. Pharaoh - the Ultimate Power of Egypt.
Yahweh sends the plague of death upon the firstborn to show to the Egyptians that their most revered God whom they believed to be Ra himself has/had NO POWER OVER
YAHWEH - THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD!!!
All of this is in the BOOK.
If you had done your own research you would know this.
Deal with the FACTS!
Your hotep gods have been utterly humiliated and destroyed by the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD.
There is nothing you can do about it
