That's because Islam is a fraud. Muhammad showed up over 500 years after Jesus.

That doesn't mean anything. Prophet Muhammad preached the same message as Jesus.

He also described Jesus' appearance in an authentic Hadith.

The message is worship the one God without any partners. Same core message and the commonality of all the prophets.

Jesus was no prophet he is God.

He says in the Bible before Abraham he was there.

My theory is the religion is inherently violent.

I do not see Hindu's/Buddhists doing this stuff when someone makes fun of Buddha

We also have to take a step back and realize that Christianity/the Western world and Islam/the Arab world have been linked together FOREVER, they're like brothers who have benefited and stolen from, loved, been obsessed with and hated each other for CENTURIES. No one makes fun about Buddha because really no one in the Western world cares about it like that. And Buddhists and Hindus can get violent too, we just talk about it much less here because it doesn't involve westerners.

I think they correlate to poverty and socioeconomic discrepancies. Also, I think post-9/11 the community really rallied on its religious/cultural/ethnic pride (not saying they rallied on action of 9/11 itself) and got really defensive about being attacked or treated like a population of fault

You mean not anymore. Let's not forget about Religious wars (Christians killing...Christians ) and Inquisition.

EDIT: And to actually answer the question, I think it has a lot to do with insecurity and KNOWING that after a Golden Age where the Muslim world was far more advanced than the Western World they've been unable to move on and reform to adapt to a changing environment.

Qur'an burning or Muhammad drawings provoke such violent reactions across the Islamic world.

For a religion which calls itself a "religion of peace" that is very uncalled for.

I see Atheists shytting on Christians all the time and I don't see a violent backlash.

Thank you mamba for asking for my input, I have not been posting very much because of personal reasons, but I do read through the forum.

The simple answer to OP is because Muslims of today do not follow Islam, Islam teaches us that if an ignorant person says something you do not like, do not come back at them with violence,or come back at them by saying something to offend them, but say something nice about them, because one only speaks to others as he is speaking of himself, it shows what a man truly feels about himself. Inshallah, Muslims will follow Islam and stop running off of emotion, but it starts by following the basics my brothers, the 5 pillars, they are very easy to follow, and Mashallah I am trying my best to do all of them, and in the next 2 years inshallah I will go for Hajj.

Wars where religion is listed as the direct or indirect causes to conflicts in recorded history equal about 7%.

I disagree with my muslim coli brothers on this issue, I welcome and enjoy the alternative reaction of the ummah, it shows sincerity and faith in it's true form, something completely alien to atheist sodomites. They can't possibly understand why we simply refuse to be mocked and ridiculed and the day we accept such blasphemy is the day we open the gates for the kaffirs to water down our religion.
