Why Do Fans Downplay People When They're In TNA But Hype Them Up Once They Get To WWE?

As much as people over react to Vince's booking, there is worse booking out there in the wrestling world. Also, TNA's show presentation is just trash. Sometimes you just want to see what a person looks like with WWE production values.

Because the fans liked the TNA originals and hated Dixie and Russo for burying that talent in favor of WWE rejects. AJ was always mr TNA but was never booked as a top guy in TNA like he has the last 18 months in WWE

But he's not talking about "why does Lashley in WWE make more noise". WWE fans who watch a lot of wrestling and were aware of Lashley in TNA, or AJ or whoever, wrote them off as WWE castoffs or rejects and not real stars. It's not that they didn't know about them.
Lashley was a big star in TNA and presented as one by them. As big as someone could be in that company. Same goes for Joe, AJ, and hell even Bobby Roode during his world title run.

I didn't see people shytting on him? I know they were shytting on the booking when he lost to Eddie Edwards and thought it was hilarious that someone like him could even beat Lashley.

Eric Young. Ok I guess. But he played a comedy character for like 5 years and then all of a sudden hes world champ?

Because TNA is the minor leagues, I may like a guy in tna but the anticipation of seeing him perform on the big stage makes that guy more interesting. Plus no one talks about tna not even the werstiling podcasts talk about them. Notice how njpw isn’t treated as a joke and roh even has more respect. TNA has every chance in the world to become relevant and they failed as a company but the talent is different. It’s like finally aj gets his shot in front of a worldwide audience instead of in front of 3000 people

I totally understand both points. What I'm asking is then why do they end up getting huge debut/return pops if those fans thought they were inferior talent? Is it just that the smark crowd at RAW after Mania's are part of the 300K that still watch Impact?

Tribalism.

If an athlete plays for a team you dislike, they aint shyt, a scrub, hate on sight. Then when said athlete then joins your team, they then become greatest thing since sliced bread.

The Crowd after Mania is made up of a large portion of international fans, who dont get to see TNA, till the next day. In the UK we get TNA on 9pm on a Friday night, or people watch on online.

Wrestling fans majority of the time will watch wrestling regardless of where it is from and will always give it a chance, why because they love wrestling. You're confusing the WWE loyalist with actual wrestling fans.

You're right with the bolded. I would argue that there's more WWE loyalists than other fans in 2018, which is probably where I'm seeing these social media posts from.

More people have access to social media around the world. The WWE now have more access to people around the world, to spread IT's version of propaganda. It is the biggest brand in the industry, it will have more fans naturally, both for the good and bad.

To be fair a lot of the reason is WWE is very selective about who they poach from Impact. Whereas Impact has historically given anyone and everyone who has the WWE on their resume star treatment even if they were way past their prime or had a low ceiling. WWE doesn't do that with Impact talent. By the time most of the Impact guys make it to the WWE (or come back to the WWE) they have improved dramatically and honed their craft (Drew, EC3) or it's guys everyone already thought of as legit (Joe, AJ, Lashley) or guys who have put in enough work to have name recognition and a lot of fans on their own merit (Bobby Roode, Rockstar Spud) so wrestling fans are already familiar with them and know what they bring to the table.

I promise you if The Desi Hit Squad showed up the crowd isn't popping for them. By contrast someone who does have some buzz or name recognition or has put in good work like Johnny Impact or Eli Drake or Rosemary or Sienna is gonna get a good reaction.

If you look at it objectively people actually do keep the same energy because generally the only Impact talent that makes it to the WWE are people fans already wanted to see there.

Because TNA is like playing for a weak football league like the French league and the WWE is like the premier league.
