For the longest time people on Internet forums and Twitter would downplay guys like AJ, Roode, Joe, Eric Young, and EC3 but the second they step through WWE ropes everyone is overhyping them.

Even today, @Homer Simpson, posted in another thread that Lashley's return had almost 3 million views. while three months ago people were still shytting on Lashley.

Current YT views on official WWE channel from last night's Raw
Lashley's Return: 2.9M
Rousey/Stephanie Segment: 1.7M
Braun/10 year old relinquishing tag titles: 1.5M
Jeff Hardy Return: 1.1M
Ember Moon Debut: 1M

*Everything else is lower than 1M

:sas2:

I just don't understand why people don't keep the same energy. Also disclaimer I'm not calling anyone out on TSC but I've seen people (mostly white boys) on Reddit and Twitter going crazy for Lashley's debut and Woken Matt.

Can anyone explain to me why fans don't keep the same energy and hype TNA guys up once they get to WWE?

Outside of Lashleys TNA run, these guys were booked terrible over there, even as world champions

Angle was overbooked which actually hurt him when he first got there. What does it say about your company when a guy shows up and wins the tag team titles by himself?

Because there are like 300,000 people who watch tna every week and 3 million who watch wwe?

More eyes. More people talking about it.

I understand that, I'm saying they should keep the same energy when they debut or return not go "oh my god Lashley's back" like the crowd did last night.

Also at TNA's peak, RAW was still getting 2.5 to 3 million more viewers than Impact so that viewer gap has always been there.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I always thought Joe and AJ were dope and actually should've been in the E.

Never cared much for EC3, still don't. I feel about as indifferent about Eric Young now as I did then...

Sometimes it's also a matter of a wrestler's development or improvement as a performer. Some guys are better now than they were when they were in TNA. Just like Drew was better by the time he was on top in TNA than he was while in WWE. AJ Styles to me has become a better and more complete performer over the years, as opposed to how he was 10 years ago in TNA.

I don't know why they do it on here but for me they look like bigger stars when the audience cares. The they've been performing in front of dead crowds for years now. I watched some early impact not too long ago and seeing the hype crowd made me remember why I thought it could be an alternative.

People dont respect consistent incompetency, thats why TNA is seen as shyt on shoe, by a lot of fans.

a) The running joke of TNA being unable to pay wrestlers properly, especially when they were overpaying part timers.past it talent and low balling the talent that actually cared for the company.

b) When the TNA guys got pushed aside for the ex-WWE/WCW guys to take their spots, in some peoples eyes, fans saw it that they cannot be any good, because if they were they, wouldnt of been demoted, for the WWE/WCW guys instead. It was the TNA guys that made TNA a viable option in the first place.

But he's not talking about "why does Lashley in WWE make more noise". WWE fans who watch a lot of wrestling and were aware of Lashley in TNA, or AJ or whoever, wrote them off as WWE castoffs or rejects and not real stars. It's not that they didn't know about them.

I totally understand both points. What I'm asking is then why do they end up getting huge debut/return pops if those fans thought they were inferior talent? Is it just that the smark crowd at RAW after Mania's are part of the 300K that still watch Impact?
