Uppin this thread because it is pure comedy, but some real tips for some newbies... but I had to give in and use the foil today.
Was gettin' it in at a community grill, forgot my cleaning brush... and I just couldn't... grill was nice (gas, although I prefer coals), but clearly hadn't been cleaned in a minute... Had to foil it up...
slit the foil and you can still get the grill flavor and some char.
And we need to get something clear... the char grill lines are idea ... but blackened is a different story, and some folks got it twisted. Shyt be blackened and they didn't event intend for their food to be. Blackened is a whole different ball game and a cooking technique and end result that requires ya sauce and smoke game to be A1. It's a real technique. Not just something that stems from over searing and over grilling. Just for the record. Here's an example:
