Why didn't Funk Flex and DJ Clue continue with the albums like Khaled??

Chill. NYC DJs have abused their connects enough. They all got record deals and label imprints and very few hits came from it.

Clue had Eminem, Royce and Method Man on a song that I cannot remember. Did he even have to pay for those verses?

Khaled is at least trying to make big records that can benefit the feature artists.
How is that any different? Clue got the hottest artists at the time, mixed them with some underground spitters that his mixtapes were known for. It's not like Khaled is doing anything new.

Flex & Clue pretty much were dissolved in the label purges, and they had other things going on to care.

also if anything Clue should've been bigger than what he was. He's a LEGEND in the Tri-State circuit, dude could've been nation wide like Khaled and being that Fab blew up under him, had he gone the album route like Khaled, who knows, maybe Joe's career and the A-Team would've been different :hubie:

They could've easily been where Khaled is at if they would've kept going with it. Flex came out with a great joint with volume IV in 2000 and Clue in 01 had a monster joint with the Professional pt 2, wtf happened after? They just said "f it"? Them 2 had as much juice as Khaled does today, they could've had anyone collab on anything, would've been some classic records especially cuz Flex knew who to line up who :yeshrug:
even though the 60 minutes of... and professional series were groundbreaking because they were the first of their kind idk if they sold well, Khaled has had hits and sold for the most part.

Also money, Tony Touch, Envy, Drama, Kay Slay (RIP!) and Greg Street had albums too but when they started shrinking budgets only people who could generate hits were getting albums (Khaled)

Both Clue and Flex got Em when he was on the come up… as big as Khaled is, even he hasn’t been able to secure an Em verse for himself. He got lucky on this new album cuz the Em verse is from a Kanye track from 2 years ago that Ye let Khaled have

But in this day and age, most artists would be a fool not to do the verse if Khaled requests one
unless it's a hit like wild thoughts I think most artists will be ok without Khaled, shyt is so formulaic, that being said it's never not a bad thing and it's a look.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I always thought that Funkmaster Flex's 60 Minutes of Funk Vol. 4 mixtape that came out in 2000/2001 was pretty good. DMX, Nelly, Ludacris, Jadakiss, Genuwine, Three 6 Mafia, M.O.P., Eminem & D12 all had a cut on it. Granted it's been a while since I gave it a listen so I could have a different perspective now.

I don’t see either of them crafting albums the way Khalid does. Khalid damn near makes pop music.

They would definitely make better projects, but can’t see it getting the attention a Khalid project gets.
exactly both of their albums just sounded like a high quality mixtape of loosies.

Cause people want that watered down bullshyt with "hit records'' instead of actual hip hop cuts with them rapping.

I think The Professional went platinum without any videos or concrete singles. But then again, this was during the late 90's where everybody was selling units

stop it :russ:

don't discredit those that went platinum, sh*t was still a difficult thing to do, or else AZ would've done it, Gangstarr would've done it, Tracey Lee, and anyone else with a record deal. Going platinum will ALWAYS be an achievement no matter what era. Took Nas till his second album, you still had to have a HOT single and a somewhat solid fan base.
