The killing joke was a misstep but even the greatest artist have mishaps. His track record speaks for itself and he has infinitely more hits than misses. You know if he ran it the characters would at least somewhat resemble the source material.

Also I think the problem with DC/WB is at the top on the exec board with Kevin Tsujarhara

He's really applied his business by the numbers mentality from the other divisions of WB he used to work at (theme parks) but not the qualities of the previous WB head who had given Nolan a chance in a measured way that he agues makes sense. He looks more at names, isnt sure what they're doing is good or not doesnt quality check or over checks to initial buzz but doesnt take focus artistic chances. i think even under this guise, if Bruce Timm and Paul Dini still had their fastball they'd still get undermined by him

Nah it seems the DCCU was doomed from the start no matter what or who.
Greedy WB execs wanting to copy and cash in on someone else's hard built success meant they had little patience for setbacks.
They didnt want to take chances anymore after Green Lantern failed and MoS didnt hit 1 billion. They just gave in to greed and started fast tracking shyt too much, firing people, changing trajectories, reshoots out the wazoo,etc, instead of pushing stuff back and taking time they was all just blindly believing they would bank regardless.....shyt backfired. Its over.
Aquaman is DOA but yeah amma still see it.
