Why did they cast Danny Glover for Predator 2?

Strongly disagree with you on this one:

Predator 1 is one of the best alpha male movies in Hollywood. Everyone nailed their part. The movie stays mysterious for more than a half part, keeps raising the tension just perfect, has a very good pace, has one liners and other jokes timed really well. Keeps a great claustrophobic feeling throughout the movie, the jokes end as the movie progresses them knowing they are being hunted and they can't escape the jungles till they reach the helicopter. It also makes you care about every crew member just like Alien and Aliens films did. Predator 2? We only give a shyt about Glover.

And the battle duel between Arnold and Predator is epic with Arnold battle cry scene being the best scene from the franchise. shyt just got real.

Predator 2 meanwhile is all over the place, it tries to do too many unnecessary things, doesn't develop Predator storyline at all other than the ending where we find out more about the Predators. You're free to like any movie you want, just like any of us. But I've never heard anyone rating Predator 2 higher than the OG film. Can you imagine Alien movie based in the city? Oh wait they had one in AVP2, and that was one of the worst movies ever.

Predator 2 is like watching Alien 4, a cheapened out movie. You can enjoy it, Predator 2 did have some cool scenes, but in overall product it doesn't compare to the original one.

I saw them both when I was just a kid 20+ years ago, so take my evaluation with a grain of salt but it got 7 daps.

No I understand you can enjoy whatever film you want. But objectively speaking Predator is simply a much better film. I don't know who are these people but their arguments aren't strong. They are mentioning bunch of visuals and liking the supporting cast, when Predator 1 had a superior cast.

If you are making a film about mysterious creature from outside the world, you have to hit the basic parts well. Keep the tension, have some mystery throughout the movie, the alien creature is ready to kill? Develop the characters enough so the viewer cares about them (that part is failed by incredible amount of movies) and develop a story further if it's a sequel.....all they did in Predator 2 was showing new gadgets from the Predator, him hunting down rival gang members that no one cares about and then the end part where they finally reveal something more about the Predator but the movie is over already. It's not like OG Predator was some genius film, but the sequel feels just pointless, too many cliches and lacks creativity, other than a couple scenes.

I like Predator 2. Always have. Its a fun movie, good action and effects. A worthy sequel in my eyes even with its flaws.

However, for me Predator is maybe the best action movie of all time. Its just so good in every way with maybe no weak spots. I can find many things to nitpick in part 2 but the original is just perfect. I can watch it anytime its on.

So in no universe can I rank part 2 over the og.

He had some great dramatic roles. Check out The Saint Of Fort Washington and Switchback.

Went and watched those first two movies. You gotta give major props to the make-up and costume teams.
30+ years later nothing looks cheesy or outdated

It is amazing how movies like The Terminator, Predator, Predator 2, T2, and other 80s and 90s action movies didn't have the type of effects we have now but they're much better than flicks we have today.

Danny Glover always seemed random...but do you not know when this movie was made? Why would Wesley Snipes been cast in this? All he had done at that time was Willie Mays Hayes and the thug in the 'Bad' video

Arnold didn't want to do a sequel, and Lethal Weapon was a hot franchise at the time, and I'm betting Mel Gibson wasn't available or didn't want to do it, so they went with Danny.

That's what I've always thought anyway.

In Predator 1 the special forces team spent the whole movie getting murked running away and trying to get to da choppa...

In Predator 2 Danny spent half the movie looking for the predator and the other half running down on him when he found him...people don't understand that Danny WAS the predator...the movie is about Danny hunting the predator, not the other way around...The predator NEVER HUNTS DANNY the whole movie cause it knows Danny is a real nikka...it new it from the jump when dude drove a car with no drivers side door into a shoot out...the predator ALWAYS waits until Danny leaves before killing anybody...when he and his partner were in that drug dealers apartment predator waited until dude came back by himself before trying anything...Predator waited until AFTER Danny left to get at King Willie cause it new if it tried anything while Danny was around this movie would have only been 39 minutes long...

Don't even get me started on this...Danny saw the predator rip a man spine out and CHASED IT...Danny saw the predator without it's camo on the roof, all 9 feet 500 pounds and TACKLED IT...Danny was even strong enough for the predator to hold onto his arm...you know how fukking strong you got to be for a 9 foot 500 pound alien to hang from your arm and it not just fukking rip off ? Danny didn't know shyt about that spinning disk, said fukk it and grabbed it and sliced its arm off...be real with yourself if you saw a random alien gun you picking it up? Probably not cause you don't know what the fukk is going to happen to your body if you touch alien shyt...Danny didn't care...the alien fell through the building opposite the building they were on DANNY fukkING CHASED IT...SHIMMIED DOWN A BUILDING AND ACROSS TO ANOTHER BUILDING...

Dude was so thorough that Aliens aint even hunt humans for awhile after Danny...they hunted xenomoprhs...aliens had to choose between hunting humans and hunting things that bleed acid that can burn you to the bone and they said we'd rather hunt the acid monster than a human cause the human might know Danny and we don't want them problems...then when they became contractually obligated to hunt humans again they said ok well we going to do it on our terms we going to seek out specific humans who we know are NOT Danny and put them on a planet, we can't run the risk of going back to earth and accidentally getting into it with Danny again...he accepted our antique gun last time he might not be so gracious next time...

Somewhere there is a giant map that predators look at to decide where they are going to hunt...on that map there is a giant X over LA and under that X it says "do not hunt here". Danny made LA a no fly zone for predators. You aint EVER going to see one in LA. Matter fact when they did come back to earth in AVP2 they kept that shyt to some small midwestern cac town. They kept all that shyt in a 20 mile radius cause they knew if they got anywhere near Route 101 they was going to get the kind of smoke no fan is going to put out.
