That wasn't luck breh that was a Ruff grittieness of the LAPD rampart / crash division better put some respect on they name plus Danny was not only at war with the predator he was also fighting against homicidal drug lords and gangs so he had more on his plate...and he only had like a .45 and a shotgun ...
Arnold had RPGs God damn saw sniper rifles and some more shyt...

It’s definitely better and better with time. The years have been good to it.
If Wesley was casted instead, which is possible, he couldn't do any fighting. The whole motif of Predator 2 was a Everyday Cop vs. the Predator.
But because of Lethal Weapon giving him exposure, Danny made a solid choice, plus Danny had the age factor which helped with his squabbles with the Captain; you cannot imagine a young cop like Wesley being able to pull that off against Robert Davi, you need a older actor who had the look of working years on the street to bark back
Plus Gary Busey as well; Lethal Weapon reunion.
