the tri-state
people inherently dislike singing hooks.

i for one thought everything about the song was dope except the overall song has depreciated to me ever since i found out polow da don steals beats (this one in particular)

*edit* i know there was that untitled 1.5 that some poster did and he edited out the hook for Hero and it sounds dope but the singing i actually preferred after hearing that version.

didn't hate that song...felt kind of weird being the single from "N*gger!," but one of the best radio records he's done.

I liked that record and to be honest it didnt catch too much hate....it just didnt catch on.

I think it was unusual to people for Nas to do that and the hook was working againgst it.

But I loved it and the beat for what it was.

In the theories of the god, I didn't move the crowd in any way. Not their asses or their minds. It was just eh, should've dropped a straight banger or a straight intellectual song.

It was still 3 mics.

This universal apartheid, I'm hog-tied, the corporate side
Blockin' y'all from goin' to stores and buyin' it
First L.A. and Doug Morris was ridin' with it
But Newsweek article startled big wigs, they said, Nas why is he tryin' it
My lawyers only see the Billboard charts as winnin'
Forgettin' Nas the only true rebel since the beginnin'
Still in musical prison, in jail for the flow
Try tellin' Bob Dylan, Bruce, or Billy Joel they can't sing what's in their soul
So Untitled it is, I never change nothin' but people remember this
If Nas can't say it, think about these talented kids
With new ideas being told what they can and can't spit
I can't sit and watch it, so shyt, I'mma drop it
Like it or not, you ain't gotta cop it
I'm a hustler in the studio, cups of Don Julio
No matter what the CD called, I'm unbeatable y'all, let's go

this alone is 5 mics worthy :stopitslime:
