I know a 15 year, who's very smart, he's a gang member and sells drugs because his single mother needs help keeping bills paid, he got caught with drugs a few months back and has been in jail ever since, I couldn't offer him any alternatives, I couldn't tell him to go read books or get a job, he is the man of his household at 15, no book can immediately get him out of that.

I have helped start up multiple programs and started a company www.vyrlmedia.com that helps redirect the creativity in our youth into art. I speak at schools and colleges daily...I think i've earned the right to call gang activity stupid.

you can call gang activity any name you want to, but the gangs are still thriving and will continue to because gangs aren't a disease, they are a symptom of one. I don't speak at colleges, I go into the homes of gang members putting my very life in danger listening to them and their situations, teaching them how to make constructive use of their time, I'm only one person so my influence is limited to what i can personally do.
