African wrestlers in Senegal.

Aint no slave breeding here. Cacs want credit for everything great that they have and have not done. The fact is, we are just Great.

I read a lot of sports magazines and whenever they interview the top athletes the stories are all the same. The athlete in question has been playing sports hardcore since they were a small child and the parents pretty much pushed them to excel in sports. So in the case of black athletes it's just a matter of lack of options. Many black athletes are coming from impoverished backgrounds and see sports as the only viable option so their focus is mostly on that. I won't rule out some genetic advances but I think it's mostly lack of options. I believe you can see a similar pattern in music as well.

It's a reason why a lot of ball players kids are not as good as their parents.

Great point. They didn't grow up under the same circumstances as their parents so they haven't dedicated every waking hour to the sport. Their parents having money gave them more options so the sport was more a hobby than a means to get out of a bad situation. Of course there are always exceptions but great observation.

Sports and music for a long time has been our way out of poverty.
So we tend to be better at it than other groups.

It boils down to people gravitating towards opportunities where they get judged fairly.

If you went to college than you probably read "A study of history" by Arnold J. Toynbee.

There is a theory that a marginalized group of people will excel at whatever avenues are left open to them equally and without bias.

Sports is accessible for nearly everyone and is fairly objective. Either the ball goes through the hoop or it doesn't. They cant take that away from you. By comparison, they can play way more games with you in corporate america.

White people lived in a colder climate and we're mainly hunters. So their movements were more stiff and stabby.

Black people lived in a warmer environment and were hunters and gatherers, they adapted to more complex ranges of motion.

Another theory I've heard, also why we dance better.

Possibly, but if that was the case then Mexicans would be dominating sports as well.

and while it may not be the sole factor, I wtill think that selective breeding had a role in our natural athletic prowess. Think about it;

-the strongest and most fit were able to survive the boat trip to the Americas.
-the strongest and most fit were sold and were typically the only ones to have offspring hardy enough to endure the harsh conditions of slavery.
-the strongest and most fit were able to survive floggings for insubordination
-the strongest and most fit were able to runaway and have the stamina and smarts to evade capture.

the ones that didn't meet these qualifications either died or were never given the opportunity to bare a child.

People that race horses or are into dog fighting selectively breed and it makes a difference. Just because we're human doesn't mean it doens't apply to us.

There are three reasonable lines of thinking on this.

1) Eugenic inbreeding of the diaspora by the slavers.
2) Natural affinity.
3) Cultural affinity for athletics + happenstance.

I prefer three because there is a dark flipside to one and two that should be plain to see. Either we are "all created/evolved equally" or we are not. A reasonable person can't have their cake and eat it too on this one. :francis:

I disagree with your first point. You cannot 'breed' those physical characteristics in a few hundred years. Moreover, the tasks that slaves in the America did (largely cultivating commercial crops like cotton, rice, indigo etc.) did not require physical strength or speed. Merely endurance.

I always thought that was true. The only sport Africans (not diaspora) dominate is long distance running. Then in America and the Caribbean, ex slaves have the edge in all kinds of ways athletically. That rhythm things explains Brazilian football as well.

Scandinavians mostly win the strength events, whites are better at swimming and chinese are better at synchronized diving and other shyt.

Our edge is the best edge to have tho, no doubt.

We been dominating soccer
