Is it necessary for the city's economy or is it like some 90's babies like to say CACs being CACs? Because I think in this state of emergency there should not be a waste of city resources.

Or are the organizers that rich and powerful that they do this.

NYC brehs and running enthusiats chime in.

Bloomberg is an idiot.

The Staten Island borough president has been shytting on him saying that the marathon is pulling away police from homes which need to be protected from looters.

But fukk the borough president too. I bet if it were Dinkins doing same dumb shyt, he'd be calling for SI to secede. :youngsabo:

But this is dumb. It's going to be a logistical nightmare.

Somebody corrected this. The Roadrunners Association is paying for that manpower, not the NYPD, so those cops wouldn't be necessarily aiding in relief efforts otherwise if they weren't patrolling the marathon.

Personally I don't have an issue with it and I'm not just saying that because the Marathon goes in and out of my borough in 10 minutes (which I personally find offensive, but that's neither here nor there).

The revenue the marathon provides is huge for the city and it's not like they can just postpone it or cancel it. Canceling it craps the city out of money and postponing from a competition standpoint would make it pointless. In 2 weeks time the temps are gonna be way colder than usual.

Does it account for a large percentage of the cities revenue and of so, how much of it is spent on the common folk and the citie's poor, either directly or indirectly. But I imagine an event with 40,000 runners needs a large commitment from NYC from a financial standpoint as well as considerable manpower to handle properly. But hey whats a few broken windows and looted houses to the outsiders who come and watch.

I dont give a fukk about that excuse, which is what it really is...an excuse.

There's still aloted NYPD manpower used to cover the marathon, and this is an all hands on deck moment for NYPD, FDNY and everyone in between with the city facing what its facing now.

fukk all that roadrunner 'beep-beep" bullshyt.

They're already wylin out in Coney Island and elsewhere.

Bloomberg has always been on this "lets pretend everything is normal" tip whenever something like this has happened. Hey moron, turn the tv on. Peoples lives have been turned upside down and this idiot is worried about revenue for the city.

So with that said, do you have an issue with the Knicks playing on Friday? The Nets on Saturday? The Giants on Sunday? The Greenwich Village Halloween Parade still going down on Monday?

:childplease: the marathon is in every borough and affects them all for longer than the duration of those events.

The parade has been rescheduled. So have the other games.

They made adjustments and may make more in the coming days.

To compare the marathon, which marries all the boroughs together and is tied to a now damaged outdoors to the Knicks and Nets is outright dumb and you refusing to backdown from the bs you tried to sell in here.

Do you understand the meaning of falling back when coming in with a flawed ass point that's been discredited?
