Can you expand on this?I will say, other factors not taken into consideration is peer pressure from non-black groups in their given circle or profession (yes this occurs and it amazes me that more people don't comment on it since other races of men encounter in these circles as well, I've commented on it a few times on here having seen and experienced it myself) and others.
Sure. Sometimes, non-black guys (mostly white but other races would as well) will suggest you date non-black women (namely white women but it occurs with other races, hispanic sometimes). It would be one thing if they were just innocently suggesting but at times, they throw in disparaging comments about black women in there. When I was a resident, attendings (a few of them actually) would comment on disease stats about black women and how prevalent some were with them (herpes was their favorite) and suggest avoiding them altogether or note that I was "too good" to get with a black woman. Hearing it over and over is what made me wonder what was going on, and hearing variations of this from this colleague or that really stayed with me. Even when I would check them, they would back off, and then come back with that stuff. I assumed it was just me, but they would do this with some of the other black residents. I saw some of this when I transitioned into a more corporate role as well. The better looking or taller or smarter you are, the more likely you would get these suggestions. One incident that sticks out is when I showed up at a party with a girl I was dating (she was black). She was a lawyer and all that. Despite knowing this, I was still met with variations of her not being good enough for me and so on. It was very weird. Can you expand on this?
There are a variety of reasons why black men date out if they do at all. It differs based on the person honestly and overall, it is complicated. A lot of the ones I've encountered actually do not put non-black women on a pedestal. They will get with a black woman but will also get with a white woman and will date based on how each person treats them. There are times when the non-black women treat them better, which is why they will comment on that over anything else. Also, they have greater access to non-black women since they see more of them in general and more non-black women will approach them than black women and the black women some of these guys approach are already taken, not interested, or simply not their type.

That's less putting someone on a pedestal and more trying to fit in or what not, if we're being honest.

I never heard this resistance but this made me recall one comment I heard from a white colleague when I was in retail saying that White women appeared to be "cleaner" than Black women. I will say I've dated out, but have also dated Black women. It was generally due to proximity (i.e. being in tech), access (locality - I don't live in say a Houston, Atlanta, or DC) and generally how they treated me. I grew up around different groups of people and TBH my "brand" I've noticed doesn't play well with many AA women, but inversely does work well with say Afro-Carribean or African. Being that they're not as common here I've dated White and Latina in the past.
What you mentioned before about non-Black men suggesting you date non-Black women doesn't occur in tech. The tech industry is trying to make large efforts to make it more diverse and inclusive, so a white man suggesting something like that would probably career suicide for them.
bro we gotta have an honest discussion about this. Why the fukk does pawgset or divest movement exist? Does anyone else find that weird? Even these Asian bytches who run after cac men don’t have a movement named after that shyt
They do. It's called the WMAF movement. One of the OG's.
But yeah they don't shout it from the rooftops.
PAWGSET is mostly just jokes. That divestor shyt though is crazed.
Yeah I heard about WMAF a while back but it’s definitely under the radar you actually gotta dig to find that. Bro pawgset is not jokes there’s some dead serious brehs that think white women are holy grail compared to black women. Either way from what I read it seems like a loud minority occupy both movements
