Why are so many LGBTQ men upset that Netflix made a documentary about Dahmer?

I’m more upset the movie kept trying to have the audience sympathize with this fakkit. He’s a child molesting, murdering, rapist piece of shyt. Truth be told if he didn’t kill mostly nikkas, there would be a different reaction from the press about him. Out of all the serial killer documentaries and movies I’ve seen( :snoop:I know, it’s a bad habit I gotta stop) he’s the only one that I’ve ever seen they constantly try to empathize with, as if every person in the world didn’t come from a dysfunctional familial background of some sort. They tried to make it seem as if he got that indecency charge in the show cause he was drunk dry humping a arcade machine at a fair(which did happen, but wrong charge). He got that charge from masturbating in front of kids. They tried to make it seem as if he was looking for love and compassion from all his victims, in reality he couldn’t even remember all the people he disposed of, just another body to use for him. Then they made it seem as if he was just drugging and laying besides dudes at these bathhouses he frequented. Wrong. He took them there to rape and assault them. In the show they said he only did it to three before he got banned. In reality, they let that fukker do that to 13 different people(which further let’s me believe those victims were black, more than likely prostitutes as well). Also the Gacy scene in the last episode was completely unnecessary and gratuitous. Nor did it have anything to do with Dahmer. They added Gacy to try to compare and contrast both killers. How Gacy was unforgivable and sadistic, while dahmer was lonely and misguided. The only scene where they showed Dahmer visibly killing someone was his first victim. They even made it seem as if his first kill was by accident. He knew he was going to kill ol dude, it was very normal in the 70s for serial killers to target hitchhikers. That’s why they showed that over the top scene of Gacy torturing that naked boy in his clown suit. Plus I heard that dude Ryan Murphy has a thing for adding rape scenes in his shows and movies, (he’s lgbt too). Then towards the end where it shows how disrespectful Dahmer is, they tried to redeem him by pointing out how he converted to Christianity and he was “truly sorry”, even when ol boy was bout to kill him, his last words were “I drugged them so they wouldn’t feel anything” and ended on that. The proper response should’ve been, “No Jeffery, you drugged them so they wouldn’t stand a chance” and proceed to bash that sick cracker’s head in. The whole movie tries to make you sympathize with this killer. I feel none.:pacspit:. 10 hours of white supremacist propaganda I won’t get back. End of rant.

I’m on episode 7 now and I get why gay people are upset. They’ve got him bringing men he meets in bars back to his stinky ass apartment the same night with minimal effort. They made his victims look like horndogs or people with low moral compasses (volunteering to take pics for money).

I don’t want this to appear like I’m victim blaming but this show definitely puts a light on the dangers of hookup culture. People so carelessly going back to hotel rooms/apartments with people they’ve just met could literally be walking into a killer’s nest.

i literally thought about this case everytime someone comes with some trash victim blaming for women. "she only knew him for so long, she should have got to know him better before moving in :skip: .... why did she go to his house at night :skip:...no sympathy here"..... i literally wondered if the same energy would be kept in dahmers case. :pachaha: i wasn't gonna say it tho, better you than me

But the fact is men are horndogs. If an attractive woman goes to a bar to bag someone to smash, best believe men are going to be lined up. Stinky apartment or not.

Gay men are still men regardless

Whilst I agree, its still not a flattering depiction. Especially from the victims’ perspective. This series doesn’t really emphahise the terror behind Dahmer’s actions enough because his victims make it so easy for him by being down to fukk so quickly.

Unfortunately, it has to be said. Regardless of whether it’s men or women, people really need to be discerning when they meet people in bars/clubs about hooking up the same night because there a lot of dangers associated with it. You never know who could be a Dahmer.

well some people don't do it to "hook up"... i never did, i just be trying to chill, i actually like hanging out with the opposite sex :gladbron:. maybe that's why the lgbtq community is mad because maybe the victims just wanted company and people are trying to shame them for it

I’m not trying to make it sound like going back to someone‘s place the same day you’ve met them is immoral (I’ve done it myself) but regardless of your intentions, there’s always a risk going back to a stranger’s place. Obviously, it’s different now because you can text a friend or let people know your location just in case.

Regarding this show, the way the victims are depicted in this is actually offensive. Other than when they’re in imminent danger, they have zero situational awareness about going back to a sketchy apartment that smells like rotting flesh which is very frustrating as a viewer. Makes them look like they don’t care at all.

I think they have more of an issue with Dahmer himself than they do the victims.

It seems like a good portion of the victims weren’t just out there cruising for sex. Some were just random people he met.

When those cops went into the apartment and he had a dead body on floor in the room :snoop:

Got pulled over drunk driving with a dismembered body in the back seat :snoop:

Molested and drugged a child got a slap on the wrist.

Too many chances. What I find very odd is how the police didn't know dead bodies were in that apartment. Whenever I watch crime shows on the ID channel, First 48, Dateline etc, cops routinely say the smell of death is unforgettable and once you smell it you know exactly what it is. They went to that apartment several times and didn't know? The math ain't mathing
