Why are so many LGBTQ men upset that Netflix made a documentary about Dahmer?

I thought the show was well done, especially for a Ryan Murphy joint. Episode 6 was haunting and heartbreaking.

No but it's extremely sad and heartbreaking how a lot of those men and boys would be alive if Dahmer wasn't white. There were multiple times that we know of, where he could've been arrested. He used the his white male and gay privilege to his advantage. When I say gay privilege I mean once he said they were homosexuals the police didn't want any parts of what was going on, even when the victims were clearly not okay

When those cops went into the apartment and he had a dead body on floor in the room

Got pulled over drunk driving with a dismembered body in the back seat

When I got into true crime a few years ago, Dahmer was the first serial killer I researched, seeing the faces of all his victims was heartbreaking. But to read that he got beaten to death by a black man was poetic justice.

I’m on episode 7 now and I get why gay people are upset. They’ve got him bringing men he meets in bars back to his stinky ass apartment the same night with minimal effort. They made his victims look like horndogs or people with low moral compasses (volunteering to take pics for money).

I don’t want this to appear like I’m victim blaming but this show definitely puts a light on the dangers of hookup culture. People so carelessly going back to hotel rooms/apartments with people they’ve just met could literally be walking into a killer’s nest.

But the fact is men are horndogs. If an attractive woman goes to a bar to bag someone to smash, best believe men are going to be lined up. Stinky apartment or not.

Gay men are still men regardless
