Why are old ass cartoons so much funnier than anything else on TV back then?

MGM and Warner Bros. cartoons are funny as shyt...Tom & Jerry, Wile E. Coyote and the roadrunner, Bugs Bunny all that, pure hilarity. But almost all the comedy movies and TV shows from over 50 years ago are

all there is to it. our parents were probably saying the same shyt when they were young adults, like "why aren't cartoons more creative like the Flintstones or Jetsons" or some shyt like that.

Alot of modern comedy and todays popular style of humour can be traced to 50s/60s cartoons such as bigs bunny and tom and jerry as many of todays famous comics grew up with these iconic cartoons and this formed an integral part of their comic style. 50s comedies would have been popular amonqgst the older generation. Notions of what constitute as humour has always been subjective is always evolving and changing with the times like any other art form. Something that is funny in one culture wouldnt be seen as corny in another culture.
