Sense of self. I can't explain where the esteem comes from since society in America is designed to allow racism and sexism, both things working against black women. Maybe it's because they feel if nobody is looking out for them, they have to look out for themselves, and that sets the precendent for other black women. So if you have pride in who you are and have had to fight through adversity, the pressure of the world you live in wouldn't drive you to suicide.
i agree with the emotional support part. I know this sounds ignorant... but I love these hoes. and i like black women the most. i used to dabble in all types,,, but this being able to handle shyt is fascinating to me.

many get raped and molested. Its the most under reported in our communities.
many have wayyyy too much responsibility at young ages... especially in the hood.

Plus collective consciousness... History + everything else. Plus they are the only female group on the planet that has had to be a backbone of a community.

Remember we were talking about this, most black chicks have a molestation story, they are fukked over from every single corner from the day they were born. Most have been looking after baby brothers and sisters since they were 6 and handling the house by age 9, trifling men, shyt fathers etc so they are conditioned to face obstacle and trauma. It's so fascinating and I'm not shocked people are doing studies into them.
